The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man responsible for the attempted robbery of the Bank of America Branch located at 1841 E. Allegheny Ave. in Kensington at 12:15 p.m., on July 11.

After failing to score cash, police believe the same crook later robbed the PNC Bank Branch located at 900 Walnut Street, inside Wills Eye Hospital, at 2 p.m. the same day.

In both of the robberies, authorities said, the suspect presented threatening demand notes to the bank tellers.

In the first robbery at 1841 E. Allegheny Ave., he fled without obtaining any money. In the second robbery, the suspect obtained cash and was last seen in a parking lot in the 800 block of Sansom Street. The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 9, medium to stocky build, with very light and thin facial hair and graying hair.

During the robbery in Kensington, he was wearing a white baseball cap, a light colored “baseball style shirt” with blue sleeves, dark cargo shorts and white sneakers. In the second robbery, the suspect was wearing a bright-red Phillies baseball cap and T-shirt, khaki cargo shorts and white sneakers.

Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the FBI at (215) 418–4000.••
