BRIDESBURG HISTORIC MEETS
The next meeting of the Bridesburg Historical Society will be held on Weds., Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in All Saints’ Marian Hall at the corner of Edgemont and Buckius streets. One of our favorite presenters, Rick Spector, of Moviehouse Productions, will get us ready for the holidays with a slide show of nostalgic images from Philadelphia. He is one of our favorites. FNA FIRST AID CLASS
Fishtown Neighbors Association is offering a subsidized First Aid/CPR class on Nov. 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec Center (1202 E. Montgomery Ave).
The certification will cover CPR, First Aid and AED (vaild for two years after course is completed). Perfect for parents, babysitters and outdoor enthusiasts.
Registration is limited. The cost of the class is $90 — but FNA will subsidize 50 percent, making your cost only $45! This will be payable by cash or check, made payable to the FNA.

FNA ZONING MEETING
The Girard Coalition will offer a proposal for a sidewalk-seating ordinance for restaurants along Girard Avenue on Tues., Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave. All residents of Fishtown are eligible to vote. Please bring proof of residence or business ownership in the form of a driver’s license or a photo ID and a lease, utility bill, or recent piece of mail addressed to your home or business.••
SAINT LAURENTIUS BUS TRIP
The Saint Laurentius Ladies Guild is sponsoring a day in fabulous New York City. The trip will be on Saturday, Nov. 12 and will include tickets to see the world famous Rockets in a new Revue at Radio City Music Hall (1 p.m. show). FISHTOWN I-95 ARCHEOLOGICAL EXHIBIT
Before & Below I-95: Archeological and Historical Discoveries from the I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange Project will be on display Tues., Nov. 15 from 6:30–9 p.m. at the new KCAPA High School, 1901 N. Front St.
Celebrate fascinating riverfront findings. A free public event, perfect for the entire family. Memory screenings and educational materials are available as part of National Memory Screening Day, an initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, on Tues., Nov. 15, at Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave. The screenings will take place from 9–4. RAIN BARREL WORKSHOPS
Sustainable 19125 is partnering with the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA) to provide free rain barrel education, distribution, and installation.
Email Ariel at [email protected] to sign-up for a free rain barrel workshop. At the workshop you will learn about rain barrels and storm water management during an hour-long presentation.
Participants will then receive a free rain barrel that is installed for you by the ECA. Check out ECA’s website for more information regarding their workshops: www.ecasavesenergy.org. The next rain barrel presentation will take place on Thurs., Nov. 10, at the Coral Street Arts House from 6–7 p.m.••
ST. JOHN CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
St. John Cantius Church at 4435 E. Almond St. will be hosting its 30th Annual Christmas Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 11 and Sat. Nov. 12.
The two day event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and will include everything from homemade Polish delicacies to toys and sporting goods, children’s games with prizes and more.••
ST. BART’S PENNY PARTY
St. Bartholomew Church, at Harbison and Cheltenham avenues, will be hosting its annual Penny Party event at noon on Sunday, Nov. 13.
The event will be held at McMahon Hall. Entrance fee is $3 and the cost includes beverage and cake.
