Breast Cancer Walk
The 8th annual Ladies of Port Richmond Breast Cancer Walk will be held on Sunday, May 20 at 10 a.m., at the Monkiewicz Recreation Center playground on East Allegheny Avenue at Richmond Street. Rain or shine.
Warm-ups will begin at 9:30 a.m. Come see special guests the Philly Phantic and the Camden Riversharks! Pre-registration is $30 in advance, $35 day-of (day-of registration at 8:30 a.m.).

Kensington Sculpture Derby
Saturday, May 19, 12 to 6 p.m. at the intersection of Trenton Ave. and Norris St. The 6th Annual Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby (KKSD) is a design competition and parade of human-powered vehicle floats during this year’s Trenton Avenue Arts Festival on May 19 (TAAF).

PRCG Meeting
The Port Richmond Community group (PRCG) will meet Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians church on Allegheny Avenue at Gaul Street.
Guests include Hon. John Taylor, Mark Collazzo, Esq., Elaine Elbich of PennDot, Captain Charles Vogt of the 24th District, Chris Sawyer of the Bandit Sign Project, and Councilman Bobby Henon.
Topics are neighborhood updates, the impact of the I-95 construction project, parking concerns, use of sidewalks, bus routes by PennDot, neighborhood updates by Captain Vogt, and the progress of the Bandit Sign Project by Chris Sawyer.

Fishtown preschool
Registration for the upcoming school year will be on Tuesday May 22 and Wednesday May 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec. Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave.
For the three year-old class, children should be three by September 1. For the four year-old class, children should be four by September 1.
Classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. All children must be able to attend to their own bathroom needs.

Kensington students at the Walking Fish Theatre
B. Someday Productions of Kensington/Fishtown, in partnership with Mariana Bracetti Academy High School, will present the culmination of a semester’s work with the students at a free public performance tonight, May 16.
There will be two performances: 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The performance, Of Mythic Proportions, was created from 9th through 12th grade students’ personal stories about growing up in Kensington and how violence has become a part of their lives.
The students will perform their work at The Walking Fish Theatre, 2509 Frankford Avenue, for the community and the general public.
In addition to the performance, there will be a short discussion raised by the topics in the stories, with a chance for the audience to interact with the performers.
Following the workshop will be a reception with refreshments. ••

All veterans and veteran families are invited to attend this resource fair, which will include information on health and wellness, housing, employment, education and veterans’ benefits.

Annual Italian Festival
Mother of Divine Grace in Port Richmond is holding its annual Italian Festival May 31 and June 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9 on the school grounds. The festival is open from 4:30 p.m. until close, with Italian dinners beginning in the school hall at 5 p.m. The festival brings together family, friends and neighbors in the community for food, casino games, a beer garden and lots of good times. The school is located at 2612 E. Monmouth St., at the corner of E. Cambria and E. Thompson streets. ••
Angler Movement Studio classes
Angler Movement Arts Center is excited to announce a revitalization of its dance and fitness oriented classes under our new program, Angler Movement Studio (AMS). Beginning June 2, AMS will offer classes in basic movement for both adults and children, as well as adult classes in African dance, Pilates, kickboxing, Tai Chi, and more. AMS will offer continuous six-week sessions that can be paid for in advance ($80), or any class can be taken on a per class basis for a drop-in rate of $15. ••
NLNA Board elections
The annual Northern Liberties Neighbors Association Board election will take place during the general meeting on Thursday, May 31, 7 p.m. at the Community Center on 3rd and Fairmount streets. There will be voting for President, Treasurer, and six at-large board seats. You must be registered with the NLNA to vote in NLNA elections. You can register the night of the election; bring proof of residency in Northern Liberties and arrive at 6:45 p.m. Ballots will be collected by 8 p.m. The election committee will also accept additional nominations for a newly vacated at-large seat.
