The Port Richmond Tigers wish to thank everyone who helped to make the 24th annual Sean Daily Tournament a big success. The “Sean Daily” has become more than just a sports tournament; it has become a major neighborhood event for people of all ages. The Tigers are looking forward to making next year’s tournament, the 25th, the best one yet. Thanks again to everyone involved, especially the neighbors who tolerate the excessiveness that comes with the weekend. ••
Penn Treaty Park events
On Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m., Stars Apart, a unique punk-inspired band, will play an all-ages show at Penn Treaty Park, at Delaware Avenue and Beach Street in Fishtown. Fireworks over the Delaware will follow.
Also at the park on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m., The Friends of Penn Treaty Park will host the signature fundraiser of the year, “Champagne in the Park.”
Enjoy the cool breeze, light jazz and conversation with park enthusiasts and neighbors. Tickets are $40 per person, and sponsorships are available starting at $100, which includes two tickets. ••
Ladies of Port Richmond fundraiser
Applebee’s at 2535–37 Castor Ave. will host a flapjack fundraiser breakfast to support the Ladies of Port Richmond. Cost is $7 per person. Saturday, Sept. 8, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. For more information contact Mary Lou at 215–427–3222. ••
Penny party

Bridesburg hoagie sale
Bridesburg United Methodist Church, at 2717 Kirkbride St., will host a hoagie sale on Sept. 22 from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m. Hoagie are eat-in or takeout. Eat-in will consist of a hoagie, dessert and beverage of your choice for $5, and a hoagie alone will be $3 for an American, and $3.50 for ham and cheese or turkey and cheese. Franklin Towne Charter car show
Franklin Towne Charter High School’s first annual car show will be held Saturday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sponsored by the Northeast Muscle Car Club and the Towne Parent Association.
To be held at Franklintowne Elementary at 4529 Richmond St. in the school gym and parking area.
For crafters and vendor registration, set up is 8 a.m. Cost is $25 for a table and chair in the air-conditioned gym. Car registration is $20.

Franklin Towne Charter pancake breakfast
Help support the athetlics department at the 2nd annual pancake breakfast on Sept. 15 from 8 a,m. until noon. The event will take place at Franklin Towne Charter High School in the Franklin Towne Activity Center, 5301 Tacony St. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 3. Mater Dolorosa bus trip
Celebrate the Feast of San Gennaro with Mater Dolorosa Church with a bus trip to New York City. The trip will take place on September 16.

Are you a caretaker for an older adult? The caretaker’s experience of stress is considered to be one of the most important and highly significant predictors of nursing home entry for the person you are caring for.
If you would prefer to remain caring for your older adult at home, we can help. Lutheran Settlement House Senior Center is looking for caretakers to participate in evening sessions to get connected to local resources, hear lectures from health care professionals and find needed support.
You will receive home visits from a social worker who can assist you in making sure your needs and the needs of the person you are caring for are being met.
