Port Richmond Tigers news

Tickets are also on sale for the Tigers’ 2012 annual sports banquet. It will be held Thursday, Sept 20 at 6 p.m. at the “Casbah,” at Thompson and Tioga streets.

Eligibile players are free but must get a ticket. $15 for adults, $12 for non-playing children. Everyone attending must have a ticket by Friday, Sept. 14. Tickets can be purchased at the clubhouse Monday through Friday, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call Tom Mack at 215–275–8838. ••

Fishtown Neighbors Association zoning meeting

Tuesday, September 11, at 7 p.m., regarding Canal Street North at Penn Treaty Village: a proposal for a local distillery, bowling alley, concert venue, country and western bar, restaurant, retail outlet, and over 300 surface parking spaces. This meeting will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Kensington 418 E. Girard Ave. All residents of Fishtown are eligible to vote; bring ID. ••

Ladies of Port Richmond fundraiser

Applebee’s at 2535–37 Castor Ave. will host a flapjack fundraiser breakfast to support the Ladies of Port Richmond. Cost is $7 per person. Saturday, Sept. 8, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. For more information contact Mary Lou at 215–427–3222. ••

Bridesburg flea market

Flea market and craft show

Franklin Towne Charter pancake breakfast

Help support the athetlics department at the 2nd annual pancake breakfast on Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. until noon. The event will take place at Franklin Towne Charter High School in the Franklin Towne Activity Center, 5301 Tacony St. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 3. Baked goods and raffle prizes will also be available. ••

Mater Dolorosa bus trip

Celebrate the Feast of San Gennaro with Mater Dolorosa Church with a bus trip to New York City. The trip will take place on September 16.

Bus departs from the church, 1676 Ruan St., at 8:30 a.m. The bus leaves New York City at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $40, for reservations call the rectory at 215–535–4036 or call Lou at 215–285–2067.

The parish will also celebrate the Feast Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the church. ••

Cione Playground activities

Cione Playground is offering various activities starting in the fall, including: an after school program for children in kindergarten through sixth grade; tumbling and gymnastics for ages 3 ½ and up; “Pee-Wee” soccer for ages 4 to 6; arts and crafts; “Tot Rec” for ages 3 1/2 to 5, and bicycle polo.

The Frank Glavin fall flea market will be Saturday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Set-up space is $10 to be paid that morning. Set-up is along Almond and Westmorland streets on a first- come, first-serve basis. No food vendors. ••

Penn Treaty Park fundraiser

LSH happy hour

Lutheran Settlement House at 1400 Frankford Ave. is hosting “Happy Hour in The Garden” Friday, Sept. 7 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Stop by for some live jazz from Standard Time.

Philadelphia Mobile Food Association will have a number of food trucks available. Art by the LSH’s seniors will be on sale. Beer will be available for a suggested donation of $5. Proceeds to support LSH senior services. ••

Konrad Square flea market

The Friends of Konrad Square will host a flea market on Sept. 8 and 22 at Konrad Square, at Tulip and Dauphin streets, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in renting a space should call Vicky at 215–426–9654. ••

Bridesburg Recreation center activities

Beginning in the fall, the rec. center, at 4625 Richmond St., is offering: an after-school program, ages K-6th grade; “tots” and preschool afternoon classes; Zumba on Mondays and Thursdays starting Sept. 24; ceramics and scrapbooking classes; a ladies’ bowling league; tumbling and gymnastics and tap, jazz and ballet classes.

Bridesburg Historical Society to meet

The next meeting of the Bridesburg Historical Society will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 7:30 p.m. at All Saints’ Marian Hall, on the northwest corner of Edgemont and Buckius streets.

Of Mythic Proportions fundraiser

B. Someday Productions presents the first annual fundraiser for its Barrymore Award-winning theatre outreach program, Of Mythic Proportions, on Saturday, September 29, 6 to 10 p.m. at Michael’s Decorators, 2210 Frankford Ave.
