Food drive for the needy

American Legion Post 821 is holding its annual food drive for the needy. All donations of canned goods and other non-perishables can be dropped off at 4404 Salmon St., Bridesburg, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays after 7 p.m. ••

Anthony’s Café toy drive

Anthony’s, 319 E. Girard Ave., is hosting its first holiday toy drive for the patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Please donate a new, unwrapped toy at the bar. Contact the staff at 215–634–0981. ••

Classes at Mater Dolorosa

Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 1676 Ruan St., invites all families to its parish. Register for CCD classes, for youth needing sacraments, for RCIA classes for adults needing sacraments. Call the rectory at 215–535–4036. ••

St. Anne’s music society

Music director Mr. Nick Pignataro wants all musicians and singers to join an all-new music society at St. Anne’s Church on Wednesdays.

This will be a special group of individuals wishing to sing or play instruments in at least two concerts each year. The church is located at Lehigh and Memphis streets. The group will meet on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. All denominations welcome. For more info., call 215–426–8422. ••

NOVEMBER

PROPAC/PRTW to meet

Port Richmond on Patrol and Civic and Port Richmond Town Watch will hold a monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 27. All meetings begin at 7 p.m. at Samuel’s Recreation Center, Gaul and Tioga streets.

Due to the cancellation of October’s meeting, voting for PROPAC board members has been postponed until this meeting. ••

Mystery dinner theatre

The Bridesburg Presbyterian Players present the 2nd annual Mystery Dinner Theater, “Murder at the Pie Auction,” to be held Saturday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. Cost: $20 for adults, $12 for children. Reservations required.

Bridesburg raffle and auction

The Bridesburg Emanuel United Church of Christ will hold a combination raffle and auction on Saturday, Nov. 24. Doors open at 11 a.m., auction starts at 12:30 p.m. Tickets: $3 per person. Refreshments will be sold. Location: 2628 Fillmore St. ••

Ladies of Port Richmond casino trip fundraiser

The Ladies of Port Richmond are organizing a Mt. Airy Casino bus trip on Wednesday, Nov. 28. The bus leaves Campbell Square, Belgrade and Allegheny avenues, at 9 a.m.

To be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Hetzel’s Playground, Columbia Avenue and Thompson Street., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All Saints Christmas bazaar

All Saints Church, 4600 E. Thompson St., is having a good old-fashioned Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be wheels, crafts, food bake sale, Santa’s workshop and more. There will be a pancake breakfast on Sunday, and Santa will visit from 9 to 11 a.m.

There is a limited amount of craft tables available. Please call 215–535–4411 to reserve a table. ••

St. Anne’s Christmas bazaar

St Anne’s, at Memphis and Tucker streets, will be holding its Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come start your holiday shopping early! ••

St. Michael’s Christmas bazaar

St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, at Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, will be having its Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Enjoy pictures with Santa, shopping at the “goodie” tables, raffles and more.

Snacks and lunch will also be available. Space rental for vendors is $20; please contact St. Michael’s at 215–423–0792 to reserve a spot, but no food vendors please. ••

Trinity Presbyterian Christmas bazaar

A traditional Christmas bazaar with lunch available at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Frankford Avenue and Cambria Street, on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa

On Sunday, Dec. 2, there will be breakfast with Santa at Mater Dolorosa Church Hall, 1676 Ruan St., immediately after 9 a.m. Mass. Tickets: $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under. Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be served. Pictures with Santa will be taken for $5, including picture and frame. ••

PPA to attend FACT meeting

The Philadelphia Parking Authority will attend the Dec. 3 meeting of FACT, Fishtown Action, to explain permit parking and answer questions and concerns from the community about this issue. All are invited to attend. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Elm Tree Post, 1414 Palmer St. ••

‘Operation Santa Claus’ social

Saturday, Dec. 8, 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., at St. Anne’s social hall, 2328 E. Lehigh Ave. Includes draft beer, food and DJ, with door prizes, 50/50, $1 chances and an auction. Cost: $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

Greensgrow holiday bazaar

The bazaar, a neighborhood sale of crafts, gifts, food, and other holiday items, will take place on two weekends in December: Saturday, Dec. 8 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 9, and 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Greensgrow farm, 2503 E. Firth St. ••

MDG pictures with Santa

The Mother of Divine Grace Home and School Association is hosting professional pictures with Santa taken by the Trinitarian Sisters on Saturday, Dec. 8, from noon until 2 p.m. in the church hall, Thompson and Cambria streets.

Arts and crafts for kids will be available and the kitchen will be open for the sale of light refreshments. ••
