Police have released video of recent neighborhood robberies in hopes the public can help identify the criminals.

A man who told a clerk he had a gun made off with $300 from the Family Dollar Store at 180 W. Girard Ave. in late January, police said.

The robber came into the store at 8:02 a.m. on Jan. 26, police said, and walked behind a counter. He then told 22-year-old clerk he had a gun and proceeded to take money from two cash registers.

Police said the man is a black and has a dark complexion. He has a black and gray beard and appeared to be 40 to 50 years old. He wore a black knit hat, a black hooded jacket with tan fur around the hood, blue jeans with bleach spots and tan boots.

To view surveillance video of the robbery, visit the Philadelphia Police YouTube Channel or go to http://phillypolice.com/news. Anyone who sees the robber should call 911, police said.

A burglar also hit the 5-Hour Energy Warehouse in Fishtown early Feb. 2, but stole only some keys and a metal hand truck.

Police said they now have surveillance video of a man entering the warehouse at 2424 E. York St. at about 4:34 a.m.

The man is white or Hispanic, police said, and six feet tall and of a stocky build. He was wearing a white hooded sweat shirt, dark work pants and dark work boots. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man.

The video can also be viewed on the Philadelphia Police YouTube Channel or by visiting http://phillypolice.com/news.

Anyone who spots this man should not approach him, but call 911, police said.

Tips can be submitted at 216–686–8477 or by sending a text to PPD TIP or 773847.
