Fishtown Tots Preschool Program
Preschool at Fishtown Recreation Center registration day for the 2013/14 school year is tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m.Class for 3-year-olds: child should be three by September 1; classes held Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Class for 4-year-olds: child should be four by September 1; classes held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 to 11 a.m. For registration, bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization record and a $20 non-refundable registration fee. Trenton Ave Arts Fest and Sculpture Derby
The Trenton Avenue Arts festival, with over 200 crafts and food vendors, will take place from 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Trenton Avenue and Norris Street. The festival includes the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby, with mobile sculpture paraded on a three-mile urban obstacle course including a mud pit, starting at noon. Penn Treaty Park flea market

Preakness at the Piazza fundraiser
An all-you-can-eat-and-drink fundraiser benefiting research for multiple sclerosis will be held at the Piazza at Schmidt’s, 1050 Hancock St. in Northern Liberties, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. Bridesburg Memorial Day 5k
The United Veterans of Bridesburg are holding a 5K Memorial Run and one-mile Honor Walk on Saturday, May 18, to raise funds for veterans. Please register by the end of the day today. FNA Zoning meeting
On Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m., the Fishtown Neighbors Association’s Zoning Committee will discuss 47 W. Wildey St., a proposal for a one-story rear addition to an existing single-family home. This meeting will take place at the Fishtown Rec. Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave. Bring proof of Fishtown residence. ••

Students to perform personal stories
B. Someday Productions of Fishtown/Kensington, along with Mariana Bracetti Academy High School will present the culmination of a semester’s work with the students at a public performance on Tuesday, May 21 at 4 and 6 p.m. The performance, entitled “Of Mythic Proportions” was created from the 9th-12th grade student’s personal stories about growing up in Kensington and how violence has become a part of their lives. The students will perform their work at The Walking Fish Theatre, 2509 Frankford Ave. Following the workshop will be a reception with refreshments. The cost is free.••

Women invited to American Legion
The Woman’s Auxiliary American Legion Post 821 at 4404 Salmon St. (at Orthodox Street) in Bridesburg, is inviting women who have a blood relative who is or was a member of the military to join the post. MDG Annual Italian Festival
The Mother of Divine Grace Parish annual Italian Festival will be held May 30 and 31, and June 1, 6, 7 and 8. The festival begins at 4:30 p.m. each day and runs through the evening. Authentic Italian suppers available each night. Games of chance, games for the kids, gambling, beer garden, instant bingo, and lots of homemade delicious food will also be available. Richmond Library events
Science in the Summer at the Richmond Library will be held July 9 and 10. This summer’s topic is chemistry. All children must be pre-registered. Level 1 classes are for children entering grades 2–3. Youth basketball league in Kensington
