Port Richmond Community Group to meet

On Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians church hall basement (on Allegheny Avenue at Gaul Street), join neighbors for the Port Richmond Community Group meeting.

State Rep. John Taylor will be present, along with a presentation by C.A.R.I.E., the Center for Advocacy, Right and Interests of the Elderly. C.A.R.I.E. will address crime against seniors.

Walter L. Mason Federal Post 152 Memorial Day events schedule

On Saturday, May 25, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Tezzi Reitz Monument, at Aramingo Avenue and Somerset Street, post members will hold ceremonies honoring veterans at several locations. A special Mass will be held on Sunday, May 26, at 8:30 a.m. at St. George Church.

On Monday, Post 152 will host a Memorial Day ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. in the Casbah Caterers parking lot. After the ceremony, Post 152 will visit the gravesite of Port Richmond resident Louis Zerillo, then head to Bridesburg to take part in the parade at 10 a.m.

Konrad Square flea market on Saturdays

The Friends of Konrad Square will host a flea market on the following Saturdays: May 25, June 8 and June 22 at Tulip and Dauphin streets, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in renting a space should call Vicky at 215–426–9654. ••

Women invited to American Legion

The Woman’s Auxiliary American Legion Post 821 at 4404 Salmon St. (at Orthodox Street) in Bridesburg, is inviting women who have a blood relative who is or was a member of the military to join the post.

Flea market at Campbell Square

MDG Annual Italian Festival

The Mother of Divine Grace Parish annual Italian Festival will be held May 30 and 31, and June 1, 6, 7 and 8.

The Friends of Penn Treaty Park invite you to Movie In The Park night on Wednesday, June 12, at 7 p.m., to see “Thunderstruck.”

This film is rated PG, so bring the entire family to this story of about a basketball star who switches talent with a klutzy 16-year-old fan. The Friends of Penn Treaty Park also invite you to the Portside Art Center’s acting students performing monologues on Friday, June 14 at 6 p.m., at Penn Treaty Park.••

Richmond Library events

Science in the Summer at the Richmond Library will be held July 9 and 10. This summer’s topic is chemistry. All children must be pre-registered. Level 1 classes are for children entering grades 2–3. Youth basketball league in Kensington
