Penn Treaty Park events

The Friends of Penn Treaty Park invite you to Movie In The Park night tonight at 7 p.m., to see “Thunderstruck.” This film is rated PG, so bring the entire family to this story of about a basketball star who switches talent with a klutzy 16-year-old fan.

St. George Parish summer bazaar

The St. George annual bazaar will be held June 13, 14, 15, Thursday through Saturday both weeks, beginning each night at 7 p.m. and running through the evening. Homemade foods will be available, with kitchen specials each night and a beer garden.

Mummers will be joining the festivities for Alumni Night on June 7, with DJs playing on various nights. Location: Saint George’s Parish, 2700 E. Venango St. ••

Hancock Rec. summer day camp

Hancock Recreation Center is currently accepting applications for its Summer Day Camp 2013, for ages 5 to 12. Camp will begin Monday, July 1 through August 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

Games, arts and crafts, weekly trips, swimming and much more will be available. Registration fee is $25, and the full six-week camp is $150. Camp must be paid in full prior to start. Summer beef and beer social

Portside Arts Center Silent Auction

You’re invited to attend Portside Arts Center’s silent art auction Friday, June 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Giant Steps Gallery, 229 S. 20th St. This fundraiser will support Porside’s Mobile Arts Initiative bus; Portside has designed a layout which converts a 40-foot SEPTA bus into a mobile arts classroom. The auction will feature art work from Portside’s talented students and teachers. ••

Rock to the Future rummage sale

Rock to the Future music school is holding a live music performance and rummage sale on Saturday, June 15 at Garden Variety in Northern Liberties, 900 N 2nd St. (2nd and Poplar streets). The rummage sale will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the music performance from 12 to 4 p.m. Tickets to see music are $5, the rummage sale is free for all.

Proceeds of the rummage sale go toward summer music courses this July for kids aged 3 to 17 at Rock to the Future. ‘Papa Palooza’ at NoLibs’ Piazza

A daylong Father’s Day celebration will be held at the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a range of activities for families and kids and over 30 vendors.

Fishtown celebrity Syboll will be at Papa Palooza organizing a toddler’s anti-bullying pledge. Toddlers will be invited to dip their hands in paint and handprint the pledge against bullying. American Legion Auxiliary flea market and bake sale

The Auxiliary will sponsor a flea market and bake sale on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. around the outside perimeter of Palmer Cemetery. Table spaces are $8. The men will hold their flag retirement ceremony inside Palmer Cemetery around 2 p.m. Please bring any tattered flags that need to be retired to the post on June 15, anytime before the ceremony. ••

3rd Annual Fishtown Men’s Softball Classic

All Former Fishtown A.C. softball league players are invited to the 3rd Annual Fishtown Softball Classic on Saturday, June 15, from noon until 7 p.m. at Hetzell’s Field, Thompson Street and Columbia Avenue. The cost is $25 per player, which includes a game shirt, food, and drink. There will be two games, the first for the 50 and over guys, followed by the 30 to 49 year-olds. Book launch for local author

Kenneth W. Milano, author of “The Philadelphia Natavist Riots: Irish Kensington Erupts,” will host a talk and book signing on Thursday, June 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at St. Michael’s church, 2nd and Jefferson streets. The launch is sponsored by the church and History Press. There will be an organ concert and a tour of the church and cemetery before the talk. Flapjack fundraiser for Autism Speaks

Come help support Autism Speaks and eat unlimited pancakes at the same time. Adults cost $7, kids cost $5. This fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebee’s, 2501 Aramingo Ave. Enjoy unlimited pancakes, link sausage and a beverage.

Kids summer programs at Bridesburg Rec

Kinder Kamp begins June 25 for boys and girls aged 2, 3, and 4 years old as of Sept. 1, 2013. Camp is from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Cost: $110 for two four-week sessions.

Day camp/extended camp for boys and girls, kindergarten through 6th grade (younger than 12), will be offered from Monday, July 22 to Friday, August 16, Monday through Friday. Day camp: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., cost: $180. Extended camp; 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., cost: $180.
