Fishtown Rec. has spots for tots
The Fishtown Recreation Center will be registering children for its preschool program tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Openings are available for the four-year-olds class. Children should be four by Sept. 1. Classes are held on Tues., Wed., and Thurs., from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
All children must be able to attend to their own bathroom needs. To register, please bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization record and a $20 non-refundable registration fee. Frank Glavin Playground notices
Frank Glavin Playground, 2600 Westmoreland St., is offering instruction to children ages 3 and up in tap, jazz and ballet.
A teacher is needed to instruct the students, order costumes and plan the year-end dance recital.

The Friends of Konrad Square will host a flea market on Aug. 24, at Konrad Square, Tulip and Dauphin streets, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Community marketplace at Benson Park
The South Kensington Neighorhood Advisory Committee, along with the Friends of Benson park, will host a community marketplace on Saturday, Sept. 14, from noon to 4 p.m., at the park, 1445 N. Lawrence St. Rain date will be Sept. 15.

Frank Glavin Girl Scouts car wash
The Girl Scout Troops at Frank Glaving Playground, 2600 Westmoreland St., will host a car wash on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop by and help the girls raise money to attend a youth education program in Disney World next year.
Refreshments will be available. Portions of all the group’s fundraising activities will also benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Ronald McDonald House at St. Christopher Hospital, and the Glavin Playground equipment upgrade fund. ••
Produce vouchers for seniors
Low-income Philadelphia seniors who haven’t received free produce vouchers are encouraged to take advantage of the limited supplies of vouchers. They are being distributed at Phiadelphia Corporation for Aging, 642 N. Broad St., on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Seniors should call the PCA Helpline at 215–765–9040 to verify their eligibility and availability of vouchers. Eligible Philadelphia seniors can receive $20 worth of vouchers that can be used to purchase fresh Pennsylvania-grown produce sold at certified Farmers’ Markets in Philadelphia. ••
Housing and financial literacy workshop

Port Richmond Community Group to meet
PRCG will meet on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians’ church hall basement, Allegheny Avenue at Gaul Street.

Kensington Community Food Co-op
Kensington Community Food Co-op sponsors a marketplace event, every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second floor of Circle of Hope, 2009 Frankford Ave.
While the co-op continues to move forward with plans to open a member-owned grocery store in Kensington, in the meantime, members and non-members alike can purchase seasonal produce and bulk dry goods such as beans, grains and granola at the bi-monthly marketplace.
