And your winners are…

After five weeks of voting by Star readers (who voted by mailing in their paper ballots or voting online this year), we’ve found this year’s winners!

We received more than 800 votes for people, places and businesses in the River Wards.

Star changed up the categories this year, with new ones like “Best River Wards-Based Public Event,” and “Best Cocktail List.” But we kept the old favorites, like “Best Pizza,” and “Best Coffee Spot.”

The readers have spoken, and so we present to you, in this special issue, this year’s champions of commerce, camaraderie, and craft.

Enjoy the issue, and thank you so much for making your voice heard in these sensational neighborhoods. It was truly our pleasure to speak to and write about these winners.

All in all, it’s clear that the River Wards are really something special.

Can’t you tell from the print edition’s cover image this year, which is made up of all local places, signs, and people? It’s as colorful as these communities.
