Local artist in District’s show

The School District of Philadelphia will host its 15th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration with the opening of an art exhibit tonight, Oct. 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at The Education Center, 440 N. Broad Street.

Bridesburg Rec. flea market

On Oct. 5, the Bridesburg Council of Churches will hold a flea market at the Bridesburg Recreation Center, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spaces are $15, bring your own table. Rain or shine. ‘Blessing of the Animals’

Concilio Homeowner Workshop

October’s Second Saturday in Port Richmond

October’s Second Saturday in Port Richmond will feature a pumpkin art contest and showcase. Join in on the fun on Oct. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., on the 3100 block of Richmond St., between Allegheny Avenue and Clearfield St.

For children, bring a painted pumpkin to be showcased on Richmond Street the day of the event. For adults, bring your creatively carved pumpkin to be judged in our ‘Best Pumpkin on Richmond St.’ contest.

The last St. Anne’s Coach Bingo, on Sept. 7, was a great success. The bag for the last game retailed at $899. For $30 admission, enjoy snacks, coffee and cake while you play bingo for Coach bags.
