Liberti church Halloween party

On Halloween night, liberti church east will open its doors at 2424 E. York St. for kids and families to enjoy games, pumpkin painting, a photo booth (with photo sent later) and tons of candy. This family-friendly part lasts from 6 to 9 p.m. and everything is free and open to the public. Enter at the entrance on Gordon Street. Come by and join in the Halloween fun.

Kensington Co-op member drive

KCFC is starting a “60 in 60” campaign to get 60 new members in 60 days, to reach 400 members by Dec. 1.

Big events include a meet and greet at Pizza Brain/Little Baby’s, 2311/2313 Frankford Ave., on Nov. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; an “Eat and Greet” on Nov. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Adorn Boutique, 1314 Frankford Ave. For more information, visit kcfc.coop. ••

FACT to meet

Fishtown Action’s monthly membership meeting will take place Monday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., at Holy Name of Jesus Church Hall.

Guest speakers will include Elizabeth Rosario from Public Health Management Corp., who will explain how to sign up for healthcare benefits through the Affordable Care Act. Leigh Whitaker from SugarHouse will speak about the expansion of the casino. ••

Friends of Cione to meet

Beef-and-beer for Barb Zimath

A beef and beer will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 for Barbara Zimath, a Port Richmond woman assaulted during a robbery. The fundraiser will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Polish American String Band Hall, 2729 Westmoreland St. ••

Franklin Towne beef-and-beer

Early Christmas bazaar

Veterans Day at Campbell Square

A wreath-laying ceremony will be held by the Korean War Veterans, Chapter 38, on Monday, Nov. 11, at Campbell Square in Port Richmond, at Allegheny Avenue and Belgrade Street, at 11 a.m. ••

Bridesburg Historical Society to meet

The next meeting of the Bridesburg Historical Society will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Marian Hall on the northwest corner of Edgemont and Buckius Streets.

The guest speaker will be a representative from Glen Foerd Mansion. Admission is free. ••

LOPR trip to Lancaster

The Ladies of Port Richmond will take a trip to the American Music Theatre in Lancaster to see The First Noel Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 30. Wreaths Across Palmer

Beef-and-beer for St. Joachim

A fundraiser is being held to support St. Joachim Parish’s appeal to the Vatican to be reopened. The beef and beer will be held on Friday, Dec. 13 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Philadelphia Ballroom, at 2014 Hornig Road. Tickets: $30.

Computer classes at LSH

Lutheran Settlement House is now offering free computer classes. Beginner classes are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursdays, intermediate classes are from 12 to 3 p.m., and the “Job Readiness” class is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.

Through the Aid for Friends Christmas 2013 drive, items for senior shut-ins are currently being collected at the Bridesburg Recreation Center.
