The Kmart in Port Richmond, 3301 Aramingo Ave., held a special event for friends and families last Sunday, offering customers an additional 10 percent off of all merchandise while they enjoyed free finger food, face painting, and visits with Santa Claus for the kids.

Kmart also gave away door prizes and offered free layaway on purchases made Sunday afternoon.

“We want to bring the community in and give them a little bit of ‘oomph’ for the holiday,” said Diane Carroll, a Kmart employee. “It’s just to make sure that Kmart extends their appreciation to the community.”
