Bridesburg Historical Society tonight

The next meeting of the Bridesburg Historical Society will be tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Marian Hall on the northwest corner of Edgemont and Buckius Streets. The guest speaker will be a representative from Glen Foerd Mansion. Admission is free. ••

Feed the birds in Penn Treaty Park

On Saturday, Nov. 16, the 331st anniversary of the peace treaty made between Chief Tamanend and William Penn will be celebrated at 11 a.m. At 10 a.m., the Friends of Penn Treaty Park will be holding the “Feed the Birds for Thanksgiving” event. Please bring food for birds. ••

St. Anne’s Christmas Bazaar

St. Anne’s will host a holiday craft and Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held on the second floor in the Social Hall, Memphis and Tucker streets.

There will be many vendors, plus games for children and homemade food. Tables are still available for $25. To reserve a table, call Karen 215–634–6138. ••

Girls Scouts at Glavin events

The Girl Scouts will serve up pancakes at an Applebees’ Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebees on Castor and Gaul streets. Cost: $7 per person. Tickets are available at the Glavin Playground, 2600 E Westmoreland St.

The Girl Scouts are also holding a recycling collection date on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Ed Sullivan Recycle Center, on 3361 Edgemont St. (between Ontario and Westmoreland Sts.) from 10:00 a.m. to noon. ••

Beef-and-beer for St. Joachim

A fundraiser is being held to support St. Joachim Parish’s appeal to the Vatican to be reopened. Bridesburg Rec. Christmas drive

Through the Aid for Friends Christmas 2013 drive, items for senior shut-ins are currently being collected at the Bridesburg Recreation Center.

Cione Rec Center

The Cione after school program now has openings. The program is for boys and girls age 5 to 12. It runs from 2:30 to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday from now until Memorial Day in May.
