The ladies of Affordable Skin Care Salon, at 2005 Frankford Ave. — Monique, Amy, Tammi, Mary, Michelle — will be among those attending the salon’s special Philippines typhoon relief event. On Sunday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the salon will open and donate 100 percent of its proceeds to Philippines relief.

Local business will also raffle off items and gift certificates: Walking Fish Theatre, Two Percent to Glory, Plume, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Inspired Yoga, Catch & Release, Barefoot Doctor Acupuncture, Adorn Jewelry, Coffee House Too and Kensington Community Food Co-op. On Nov. 7, Portside Arts Center held its “Help Drive the Arts Back into Philadelphia Schools” fundraiser reception, in support of the Portside ArtsMobile project.

The fundraiser raised $4,000 toward Portside ArtsMobile, which will convert a donated forty-foot bus into a mobile arts classroom for ten local schools in the 2014–2015 school year.
