Rizzo PAL sports sign-ups
Rizzo PAL is holding sign-ups for the following activities: NERF soccer for boys and girls age 6 to 8, in-house soccer for girls age 9 to 12, and in-house basketball for boys age 9 to 13.

Concilio to hold homeownership workshops
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m., Concilio will hold a free monthly homeownership workshop to educate the community on how to become successful homeowners and prevent potential foreclosure. Topics to be addressed will include budgeting, credit repair, mortgages and the purchase process.
Philadelphia residents who attend the workshop may be eligible for a city grant that assists qualified purchasers with their home closing costs.

On Monday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., recycle your old electronics responsibly as part of this event. Accepted items include cell phones, calculators, laptops, microwaves, cameras and more. PRCG to meet
The Port Richmond Community Group will meet on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians’ Church Hall, Allegheny Avenue at Gaul Street. The group will discuss the progress of the city’s Land Bank creation, as well as changes to State Rep. John Taylor’s scrap metal legislation. Tax help deadline Jan. 15
The City has created PHL Tax LOOP (Longtime Owner Occupants Program) to provide tax relief to ease the burden for these homeowners. If you are approved, your tax bill will be reduced for 10 years.
To get these savings, the city must receive your application by Jan. 15, 2014, and you have to meet the requirements — call 215–686–9200 with questions and visit www.phila.gov/loop for more info.
If you are not eligible for LOOP, you may be eligible for other tax relief programs. ••

Mother of Divine Grace Bible study and group sessions
On Wed. evenings, through March 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Mother of Divine Grace Parish will be conducting a new Bible study. The theme will be “Women of the New Testament.”
Pre-registration is not required, but calling the church will help them order the correct amount of materials. The cost of this study is $12. Also, if you’re a Catholic who has been away from the church for a while, consider participating in M.D.G.’s “Catholics Returning Home” program. It is a six-week session consisting of six small group sessions.

Northeast Catholic Alumni Memorial Scholarship Fund
The fund will be accepting nominations for tuition assistance grants until Jan. 31, 2014.
