Boutique party and sale

Adorn Boutique at 1314 Frankford Ave. will host a Valentine’s Day themed boutique party and sale on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. Refreshments and hors d’oeuves will be served. The sale will include 25 percent off any one item and free gifts for single women. ••

Volunteer on the farm

Greensgrow Farms is holding a volunteer day on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers are invited to help with winter projects such as cleaning up the property, working on the cutting garden and beds, cleaning and sharpening tools, starting winter pruning tasks and setting up for opening day. Greensgrow will provide lunch. Bring work gloves and dress for dirty work. Sign up at greensgrow.org. ••

80’s cover band

80’s cover band One Above will play at Anthony’s Cafe, 319 E. Girard Ave. in Fishtown, on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. The kitchen will be open and there will be a drink special. ••

24th Police District town hall meeting

The 24th Police District monthly Town Hall meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.

Officers will announce the arrival of new Commanding Officer Captain Daniel O’Connor, who was promoted to the rank of Captain on Jan. 31 and assigned as the commanding officer of the 24th Police District. The meeting will be held at the 24th Police District, Courtroom A, 3901 Whitaker Ave. ••

FNA zoning meeting

The Fishtown Neighbors Association is holding a community meeting Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Fishtown Recreation Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave.

Residents of Fishtown will be eligible to vote on a proposal for four single-family homes with off-street parking at 1367–73 Crease St. Bring proof of residence or business ownership in the form of a driver’s license or a photo ID and a lease, utility bill or recent piece of mail addressed to your home or business. ••

Business card exchange

The Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors will host a monthly mixer on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Frankford Hall, 1210 Frankford Ave.

Richmond library events

Registered dietician Stephanie Perez will give a free nutrition lesson and cooking demonstration for adults on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m.

Preschool storytime is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. This program is intended for children from 1 to 4 years old and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome. Daycares should call for separate appointments.

The candle lady

St. Anne’s will hold a weekly fundraising event on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2508 Sepviva St.

The fundraiser features the largest candle selection in the Philadelphia area.

St. Anne’s will host this event every Sunday at the church’s social hall at Memphis and Tucket Streets. Romeo & Juliet in space

B. Someday Productions of Kensington/Fishtown announced a co-production with Light Thief Productions of “Romeo & Juliet in Space: A Space Opera Burlesque in Space!” on February 12, 13, 14 and 15 at 9 p.m.

Free tax preparation

Concilio will host free tax preparation on Wednesday, Feb. 12 and every other Wednesday in February in collaboration with the Ceiba Coalition.

Families with incomes of less than $52,000 per year can maximize their tax returns with free expert tax preparation, through the Earned Income Tax Credit, child care expenses, and other allowable expenses.

The Housing Program will also help eligible people with property tax and rent rebates, property tax relief, energy assistance and more. To register for an appointment, call Concilio at 215–627–3100.

South Kensington Community Partners and Finanta will also sponsor free tax preparation on Friday, Feb. 14, and all other Fridays in February, at 1301 N. 2nd St. Call 215–427–3463 to make an appointment. ••

Spring break rock camp

Registration is now open for Rock to the Future’s weeklong Rock Camp from April 14–18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Each day, campers age 9 to 17 will receive a group instrumental lesson, a creative workshop and band practice.

Over the course of the week, campers will write an original song with their band and perform live at the end of the week for family, friends and the community.

Instruments are provided and no experience is necessary.

Camp will take place at 2139 E. Cumberland St.

The cost of the program is $250 with an early bird discount. Payment plans are available with a down payment of $100.

All proceeds benefit Rock to the Future.
