Richmond library events

Making Mosaics will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. This program is a part of “One Book, One Philadelphia.” Participants will be creating their own mosaics from tile, pebbles and glass pieces while learning the history of this ancient art form. ••

FABA meeting

Free tax preparation

Concilio will host free tax preparation for families with incomes of less than $52,000 on Wednesday, Feb. 19, and Wednesday, Feb. 26, in collaboration with the Ceiba Coalition.

The Housing Program will also help eligible people with property tax and rent rebates, property tax relief, energy assistance and more. To register for an appointment, call 215–627–3100.

Pierogi Week is from Sunday, Feb. 23, to Sunday, March 2, in the “Capitol of Polish Pierogies.” Notable establishments that serve pierogies include Green Rock Tavern on E. Lehigh Avenue, Donna’s Bar on Allegheny Avenue, Szrenka’s on Richmond Street and New Wave Bar on Allegheny Avenue. Girl Scout cookies

Bridesburg Rec Center renovation meeting

The meeting to discuss possible renovations to Bridesburg Recreation Center will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St. Officials from the Department of Recreation will present models and photographs. ••

TeamFit Grand Opening

Greensgrow events

“Juice Girl” Christine Patton will give a free lecture on juicing and cleansing at Greensgrow farmstand on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Learn about detoxing and energizing juices that you can make with your CSA share or farmstand goodies.

The season kicks off with opening day on Saturday, March 1, at 2501 E. Cumberland St. Seeds, soils and seed starting gear will be in. Seeds are 10% off.

Child car seat inspection station

Find out if your child’s car seat is installed correctly at the St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children/Safe Kids Coalition free monthly inspection. Music from the Middle East

Montgomery Ave., will host All Around This World: Music From the Middle East on Friday, March 7, at 10:30 a.m. Small children and their caregivers will explore rhythms and melodies from the Middle East and other cultures in a fun-filled and participatory way. Spring break rock camp

Registration is now open for Rock to the Future’s Rock Camp from April 14–18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Each day, campers age 9 to 17 will receive a group instrumental lesson, a creative workshop and band practice. Campers will write an original song and perform live at the end of the week.

Instruments are provided and no experience is necessary. Camp will take place at 2139 E. Cumberland St. The cost is $250 with an early bird discount. KCFC membership meeting

Kensington Community Food Co-op will host their first meeting of the year on Saturday, March 8, at noon at Circle of Hope, 2007 Frankford Ave.

They will be sharing vital information about KCFC and the latest on the progress toward opening a member-owned grocery store. ••

Bridesburg Rec activities

Zumba classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. Zumba toning classes will be held on Wednesdays at the same time. The fee for all classes is $4 per person.

Scrapbooking will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per class. You only need your photos and a book.

A ladies bowling league will be held Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. at Erie Lanes. The cost is $10 per week, which includes bowling and prize money. For more information, call 215–685–1247.

Mother of Divine Grace Bible study and group sessions
