Tot rec program
The Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4625 Richmond St., tot program will begin in September. Child must be age as of Sept. 1. Annual men’s soccer league
The 35th Annual Ukrainian Club Men’s Soccer League, 847 N. Franklin St., will begin in May. Games are weeknights on an outdoor field. Teams are five players plus one goalie. Spikes are required. A&W Little Athletes
Frank Glavin Playground, Almond and Westmoreland streets, is offering basketball and soccer for children ages 3 to 5. Drug Take Back Day
State Rep. John Taylor will co-host a Drug Take Back Day event with First Class Pharmacy and the Drug Enforcement Agency on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of Frankford and Cottman avenues. All pharmaceutical drugs to be disposed must be in a sealed container, like the original bottle or a zip-top bag. Liquid pharmaceuticals should remain in the original container. Personal information should be removed or blotted out with a permanent marker. Items accepted include prescription and over-the-counter solid medications; tablets and capsules; liquid medications; prescription patches; medical creams and ointments; vitamins; nasal sprays; and pet medicines.For details, call at 215–708–3139.
St. Laurentius 5k
The 6th Annual Saint Laurentius 5k will be held on Saturday, April 29. Cost is $25 in advance for adults 18 and older or $35 on race day; $20 in advance for students ages 17 and under or $30 on race day; and $10 in advance for walkers or $18 on race day. Golf outing and banquet
Friends of Saint George will hold the 6th Annual Golf Outing and Banquet on Sunday, April 30, at Juniata Golf Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m., rain or shine. Cost is $100 per person. FNA zoning meeting
Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave. Voting will take place on a proposal for adding a two-story addition onto an existing one-story building for the creation of a three dwelling unit, multi-family residence with roof deck at 29 W. Wildey St. and a proposal to create a mixed-used building with commercial on the ground floor and residential, 28 dwelling units, on floors two through five at 1502–08 Frankford Ave. All residents and business owners in Fishtown are eligible to vote. Food pantry hours change
St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, has revised hours for the weekly food pantry distributions. Distribution hours are from 11 a.m. to noon. There will no longer be evening hours. Members from the 19125 and 19134 may come twice a month or three times a month if a month has five Thursdays. For details, call 215–423–0792.
Nutrition assistance for seniors
Residents 60 and older who are disabled and have low to modest income may be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you are single and your income is less than $1962 a month, or less than $2656 a month for a couple, you may qualify. There is no limit on how much a senior has in savings and checking accounts. For assistance in completing an application, schedule an appointment with the Social Service Coordinator at St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., 215–426–9799.

Kirtan class

Police, firemen, breast cancer and yellow bows are always available. Bows and banners cost $3 each and can be purchased any weekday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Special colors are available in one week.
