Tot rec program
The Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4625 Richmond St., tot program will begin in September. Child must be of age as of Sept. 1. Annual men’s soccer league
The 35th Annual Ukrainian Club Men’s Soccer League, 847 N. Franklin St., will begin in May. Games are weeknights on an outdoor field. Teams are five players plus one goalie. Spikes are required. MDG Italian Festival
Mother of Divine Grace Parish’s annual Italian Festival will be held on Thursdays June 1 and 8, Fridays, June 2 and 9, and Saturdays, June 3 and 10, at 6 p.m. at Thompson and Cambria. Spaghetti suppers will be served every night in the air-conditioned school hall from 5 to 8 p.m. Take-out is available beginning at 4 p.m. Other food available will include fried dough, pizza, sausage and peppers, meatballs, and roast pork sandwiches, all cooked homemade and served in the food court. Entertainment will include wheels of chance, moon bounce, games for children of all ages, a beer garden offering craft, domestic and imported beers, along with specialty drinks, and the gaming hall. Atonement Church and By My Side will host a block party on Saturday, June 3, from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 1500 E. Montgomery Ave. The event will feature pyrotechnics, jugglers, kids games, adult games, chances, prizes, face painting, food and music. There will also be a flea market. Vendors can rent a table and two chairs for $10. Residents are invited to enter the barbecue contest. Bring a four-quart or larger container filled with barbecue concoction. Food pantry hours change
St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, has revised hours for the weekly food pantry distributions. Distribution hours are from 11 a.m. to noon. There will no longer be evening hours. Members from the 19125 and 19134 may come twice a month or three times a month if a month has five Thursdays. For details, call 215–423–0792.
Nutrition assistance for seniors
Residents 60 and older who are disabled and have low to modest income may be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you are single and your income is less than $1962 a month, or less than $2656 a month for a couple, you may qualify. There is no limit on how much a senior has in savings and checking accounts. For assistance in completing an application, schedule an appointment with the Social Service Coordinator at St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., 215–426–9799.
Women self-defense classes

MotherHeart Studio, 2359 E. Susquehanna Ave., welcomes everyone in the neighborhood to take part in MotherHeart Kirtan. Kirtan is the recitation of spiritual ideas through songs of devotion.
