MDG Italian Festival
Mother of Divine Grace Parish’s annual Italian Festival will be held on Thursday June 8, Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, at 6 p.m. at Thompson and Cambria. Spaghetti suppers will be served every night in the air-conditioned school hall from 5 to 8 p.m. Take-out is available beginning at 4 p.m. Other food available will include fried dough, pizza, sausage and peppers, meatballs, and roast pork sandwiches, all cooked homemade and served in the food court. Entertainment will include wheels of chance, moon bounce, games for children of all ages, a beer garden offering craft, domestic and imported beers, along with specialty drinks, and the gaming hall. St. George Bazaar
St. George Parish, Edgemont and Venango streets, will hold its bazaar on Thursday June 8, Friday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10. Kitchen opens at 6 p.m. Activities begin at 7 p.m. There will be chances for Phillies tickets, a beer garden, nightly air-conditioned Bingo, card games, homemade pierogies and blynais, barbecue, and children’s games and activities.

Fishtown Library. 1217 E. Montgomery Ave., is hosting free events for the public. A breast cancer information session will be held on Wednesday, June 7, at 6 p.m. A representative from the Linda Creed Breast Cancer organization will give an informative presentation on breast health for all, including the LGBT community. Master Gardener, a vegetable gardening workshop, will be held on Monday, June 19, at 6 p.m. The event will feature a presentation from the Penn State Master Gardener Series on how to grow your own vegetables. Penn Treaty Park events

State Rep. Financial exploitation forum
The Philadelphia Financial Exploitation Prevention Task Force will present a free forum for anyone interested in learning how to avoid becoming a victim of financial exploitation on Wednesday, June 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ralston Center, 3615 Chestnut St. FOX 29 reporter, Chris O’Connell, will moderate the panel, which will include Philadelphia City Councilman Derek Green and other panelists representing the banking, security and technology industries.
St. Adalbert Parish festival
St. Adalbert Parish Festival will be held on Thursday, June 22, Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24, beginning at 6 p.m., on the parish grounds, Allegheny Avenue and Thompson Street. There will be games for children, a moon bounce, face painting, a beer garden, a flea market, games of chance for the specialty baskets, a cake booth, jardo etc., homemade Polish & American food, cash casino and much more. The Delaware River City Corporation will host its 3rd annual Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series. The series will kick-off with Toy Story on Thursday, July 13, at sundown in the field at Pennypack on the Delaware Park State Road and Pennypack Path. The remaining lineup includes Lilo and Stitch on July 27, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on Aug. 20, Finding Dory on Aug. 17, and Jurassic Park on Aug. 24. All movies begin at sundown. Food pantry hours change
St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, has revised hours for the weekly food pantry distributions. Distribution hours are from 11 a.m. to noon. Nutrition assistance for seniors
Residents 60 and older who are disabled and have low to modest income may be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you are single and your income is less than $1962 a month, or less than $2656 a month for a couple, you may qualify. There is no limit on how much a senior has in savings and checking accounts. For assistance in completing an application, schedule an appointment with the Social Service Coordinator at St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., 215–426–9799.
