Archdiocesan high schools and parochial elementary schools in the City of Philadelphia will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 5.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s office of communication said the decision was made in the wake of today’s storm. It follows reports from the National Weather Service projecting that the next 60 hours will feature dangerously low temperatures, winds gusting 35 to 40 miles an hour, and wind chills between 0 degrees and -5 degrees.
Archdiocesan high schools and parochial elementary schools in the suburban counties normally follow the decision of their corresponding local public school district and submit closure status independently.
