Valentine’s Day at the library

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host a special Valentine’s Day event on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 4 p.m. The event will include stories, crafts and fun. All children and families welcome.

Read, Baby, Read Walkers & Talkers Pajama Storytime

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Read, Baby, Read Walkers & Talkers Pajama Storytime on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m. Dance, wiggle and sing along in the fun storytime for young independent movers. For children ages 12 months to 24 months with caregiver. Childcares and groups, please call the library to make an appointment. Pajamas optional.

Read, Baby, Read My First Storytime

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Read, Baby, Read My First Storytime on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 p.m. Bring your little one for lap time with stories, songs, rhymes and bounces. For children ages birth to 12 months with caregiver. Childcares and groups, please call the library to make an appointment.

Construction Club

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Construction Club on Friday, Feb. 16, at 3:30 p.m. Build with LEGOs, MagnaTiles, KEVA planks, Straws & Connectors, and more. All ages welcome. Children under seven must be accompanied by an adult.

Valentine dinner

American Legion Post 821, 4404 Salmon St., will host a Valentine dinner featuring Sinatra and Friends, Jacky Dee, on Saturday, Feb. 17. Yoga

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Yoga for Adults on Monday, Feb. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Beginners welcome.

Preschool Storytime & Playtime

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Preschool Storytime and Playtime with Miss Meghan on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 1 to 4 and their caregivers are welcome to join her for stories, songs, and activities. FNA zoning meeting

Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. at Fishtown Recreation Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave. Voting will take place on two projects: A proposal for new construction, 3-story 4-dwelling unit structure with balcony at story story facing Richmond Street and two off-street exterior parking spots at 116 Richmond St. and a proposal for two-family dwelling use in single family RSA-5 district at 1360 E. Susquehanna Ave. All residents and business owners in Fishtown are eligible to vote. Please bring proof of residence or business ownership in the form of a driver’s license or a photo id and a lease, utility bill, or recent piece of mail addressed to your home.

Saint George Paint Night

Saint George Paint Night will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24. Painting will be held in the school hall, Salmon and Venango streets. Doors open at 6 p.m. and painting starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35. The kitchen will be open, but bring your own beverages and snacks. Poor Man’s Supper

MDG and Saint George Parishes will host the 2nd annual Poor Man’s Supper on Tuesday, March 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. George Church Hall, t 2700 E. Venango St. All are invited to attend. A&W Tot Rec

Frank Glavin, “A&W,” Playground, 2600 E. Westmoreland St, will hold Tot Rec registration night on Thursday, March 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A $20 non-refundable registration fee is required. Bridesburg summer camp

North Catholic 50th reunion

The 50th reunion for Northeast Catholic High School’s class of 1968 will be held on June 8, from 7 to 11 p.m., at Allied Trade Glaciers Hall, 2980 Southampton Road. Kirtan class

MotherHeart Yoga Sangha, 2359 E. Susquehanna St., welcomes you to take part in MotherHeart Kirtan. Kirtan is a vocal means to connect with spirit and open the heart. Bridesburg Tot Rec

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4625 Richmond St., is accepting information for its 2018–2019 Tot Rec program. Children must be 3 or 4 as of Sept. 1. Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4625 Richmond St., will hold adult zumba every Monday and Wednesday, from 7 to 8 p.m. Room is air-conditioned. Cost is $4.

Bridesburg bows and banners

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4625 Richmond St., has Bridesburg banners and police, fireman, breast cancer and color bows available for purchase any weekday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Cost is $3.50 each. Proceeds benefit the children’s activities.

Bridesburg Food Pantry donations

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4625 Richmond St., is collecting items for the Bridesburg Food Pantry. Nonperishable food and clothing can be dropped off at the rec center on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Adaire Chess Club

Women self-defense classes

Women self-defense classes will be held at Fishtown Recreation Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave., on Tuesdays, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per class. Course certification available. Support group

Lost parents and family members group meets every third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at Cione Recreation Center, Lehigh and Aramingo avenues. Anyone who is suffering from the loss of a loved one, friend or whoever is welcome.

Nutrition assistance for seniors

Residents 60 and older who are disabled and have low to modest income may be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you are single and your income is less than $1,962 a month, or less than $2,656 a month for a couple, you may qualify. There is no limit on how much a senior has in savings and checking accounts. For assistance in completing an application, schedule an appointment with the social service coordinator at St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., (215) 426–9799.

Bingo at Ukrainian Cathedral

Bingo will be held at the Ukrainian Cathedral, 801 N. 8th St., on every Monday and Friday. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Games begin at 7 p.m. Private parking lot on premises. For details, call (215) 839–8103.

Bingo at St. Anne’s Center

St. Anne’s Senior Community Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., offers bingo on Mondays and Thursdays. Bingo supplies are on sale at 11 a.m. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. Bingo will begin at 12:30 p.m. Registration required for lunch. Free parking is available. Senior exercise classes

Exercise classes for people 50 and older will be offered at St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St. Class schedule will be Enhance-Fitness on Mondays at 12:30 p.m., Thursdays at 11 a.m., and Fridays, at 10:30 a.m., Chair Yoga on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. (except the second Tuesday of each month), and Tai Chi on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Creative art classes

St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., is offering creative workshops for individuals ages 50 and older. Clay Creations will be held on Fridays, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Creating with the Color Wheel, an interactive painting class with Michael Secor, will be held on Tuesdays, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Registration required.
