St. George revised Mass schedule

St. George Parish, 2700 E. Venango St., new Mass schedule is Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday night at 6 p.m. as of Sunday, July 8. All are welcome. Please call the Rectory at 215–739–3102 for any questions.

Lillian Marrero activities

Every Friday, the Lillian Marrero Branch, 601 W. Lehigh Ave., will offer different physical fitness activities throughout the summer on Fridays at 11 a.m. for kids. Activities include yoga, dancing, and jump rope. Every Monday, the library will host adult yoga from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Roots to Rise instructors will lead the classes. All classes are part of a healthy community initiative at the branch in partnership with the Philadelphia Health Department.

Walkers & Talkers Pajama Storytime

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Read, Baby, Read Walkers & Talkers Pajama Storytime on Wednesday, July 11, at 6 p.m. Dance, wiggle and sing along in our fun, free storytime for young independent movers. For children ages 12 months to 24 months with caregiver. Childcares and groups, please call the library to make an appointment. Pajamas optional.

STEAM Wednesdays

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host STEAM events on Wednesday, July 11 and 18, at 1 p.m. Check out art projects, science experiments, and other fun activities. Groups must schedule their own visit. Please call ahead to make sure the library is open. For details, call 215–685–9992.

Read, Baby, Read My First Storytime

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host Read, Baby, Read My First Storytime on and Thursday, July 12, at 11 a.m. Bring your little one for free lap time with stories, songs, rhymes and bounces. For children ages birth to 12 months with caregiver. Childcares and groups, please call the library to make an appointment. Call ahead to make sure the library is open.

A Wrinkle In Time Book Club

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St, will host A Wrinkle in Time book club on Thursday, July 12, at 2 p.m. Read Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle In Time and do related crafts and activities. Sign up required.

Crochet Club

The Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., will hold Crochet Club every Thursday at 9 a.m. starting July 12. For more details, call 215–426–8610.

Flea market

The Friends of Konrad Square will host a flea market on Saturday, July 14, at Konrad Square, Tulip and Dauphin streets, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in renting a space should call Vicky at 215–426–9654.

Friends of Penn Treaty Park, 1301 N. Beach St., will hold a flea market on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables are $15 each. Bikes, Beans & Beers

A group bicycle ride starting in Fishtown at Palmer Park, Frankford and Columbia avenues, and heading north along portions of the Riverfront North parks and trails will take place on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop sinclude : River Wards Café and Evil Genius Beer Company, where a dollar of every beer sold in the beer garden from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. will go to support maintenance of the parks and trails of Riverfront North. Read, Baby, Read: Play Café

Richmond Library will host Play Café, on Mondays, July 16, at 2 p.m. Join us for play and great conversation for babies, toddlers, and grown-ups alike. Light refreshments will be served.

Sensory Storytime

Richmond Library will host Sensory Storytime geared toward children on the autism spectrum and their families on Monday, July 16, at 6 p.m. Miss Megan will read picture books, sing songs, and do fun movement activities. Stay after to play with manipulatives and socialize.

Free Outdoor Movie Night: Despicable Me 3

Come out with the whole family to enjoy a movie under the stars. Kids activities start at 7:30pm, featured movie “Despicable Me 3” starts at sundown on Tuesday, July 17, at the Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St. This event is sponsored by the Bridesburg Business Association. FNA zoning meeting

Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, July 17, at 7 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave. Voting will take place on a proposal for the demolition of an existing structure and construction of a three-dwelling unit multi-family building in an RSA-5 single family zoned district at 1403 E. Columbia Ave. All residents and business owners in Fishtown are eligible to vote. Please bring proof of residence or business ownership in the form of a driver’s license or a photo id and a lease, utility bill, or recent piece of mail addressed to your home.

Preschool Storytime & Playtime

Richmond Library will host Preschool Storytime and Playtime on Tuesday, July 17, at 10:30 a.m. Miss Meghan invites children ages 1 to 4 and their caregivers to join her for stories, songs, and activities. BCAA zoning meeting

Bridesburg Community Action Alliance will host a community zoning meeting regarding 2710 Lefevre Street. It will be held at the Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond Street, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 7 p.m., in the Lower Basement Hall. Representatives of the owner and applicant will attend to present their proposed project to build 10 dwelling units (multi-family household living) with balconies, roof decks, and one private garage for each dwelling unit on the land at 2710 Lefevre St. More info about this proposed project can be found on the BCAA facebook page.

30th annual Sean Daily Tournament

The Port Richmond Tigers will host the 30th annual Sean Daily Memorial Sports Tournament on Friday, July 27, Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29, at Cohox Playground, Cedar and Ann streets. The event includes softball, basketball, soccer for all ages, women’s volleyball. Teams should register at the Clubhouse, Chatham and Ann streets, by Friday, July 20. Holy Inn going to AC

Holy Innocents Catholic Church is organizing a casino trip for Wednesday, Aug. 15.

A bus will depart from L Street and Hunting Park Avenue at 9:30 a.m. A Mass will be celebrated at noon at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, followed by a procession to a blessing of the sea. A carnival-like reception at St. Michael Church will follow.

16th annual Shore Thing

St. Anne Parish will hold its 16th annual Shore Thing on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Keenan’s, Wildwood, NJ. Tickets cost $35 and include domestic bottled beer, wine, soda, buffet, music, and photo booth. All proceeds go toward the installation of an elevator life in St. Anne Church. Vermont-New Hampshire trip

Tumbling instructor needed

Frank Glavin, A&W Playground, is looking for an energetic and knowledgeable instructor for its Tumbling Program, which serves children aged 3 through teen.
