Lillian Marrero activities

The Lillian Marrero Branch, 601 W. Lehigh Ave., will offer physical fitness activities for kids throughout the summer on Fridays at 11 a.m. Activities include yoga, dancing and jump rope.

On Mondays, the library will host adult yoga from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Roots to Rise instructors will lead the classes. All classes are part of a healthy community initiative at the branch in partnership with the Philadelphia Health Department. ••

Crochet Club to meet

The Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., will hold Crochet Club every Thursday at 9 a.m.

Fleet Reserve Association meeting

Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) George L. Carlin; Branch 001 will hold a meeting on Monday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m. at USCG Sector Delaware Bay, 1 Washington Ave.

Meetings are held the first Monday of every month and will be held on the second Monday if the first is a holiday. Enlisted active duty, retired and veteran USN, USMC, and USCG are welcome.

Holy Innocents Church going to AC

Holy Innocents Catholic Church is organizing a casino trip for Wednesday, Aug. 15. A bus will depart from L. Street and Hunting Park Ave. at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass will be celebrated at noon at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, followed by a procession to a blessing of the sea. A carnival-like reception at St. Michael Church will follow.

The trip includes a $25 slots package at Tropicana Casino. The bus will depart the casino at 5 p.m. The cost is $30, and money is due by Aug. 6.

16th annual Shore Thing to be held Aug. 18

St. Anne Parish will hold its 16th annual Shore Thing on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Keenan’s in Wildwood, New Jersey. Tickets cost $35 and include domestic bottled beer, wine, soda, buffet, music, and photo booth.

All proceeds go toward the installation of an elevator life in St. Anne Church.

Vermont-New Hampshire trip

Tumbling instructor needed

Frank Glavin, A&W Playground, is looking for an energetic and knowledgeable instructor for its Tumbling Program, which serves children aged 3 through teen.

Support group meets monthly

Lost parents and family members group meets every third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at Cione Recreation Center, Lehigh and Aramingo avenues. Anyone who is suffering from the loss of a loved one, friend or whoever is welcome. ••

Nutrition assistance available for seniors

Residents 60 and older who are disabled and have low to modest income may be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you are single and your income is less than $1,962 a month, or less than $2,656 a month for a couple, you may qualify. There is no limit on how much a senior has in savings and checking accounts.
