Pumpkin painting party

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., will host a pumpkin painting party for children and families on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m.

Halloween bingo at Cione Playground

Cione Playground, 2600 Aramingo Ave., will host Halloween bingo for kids ages 6 to 11 on Friday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Cost is $5 and includes includes pizza, drink, candy and bingo.

Friends of Monkiewicz movie night

Friends of Monkiewicz will host a movie night on Friday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the front field of Monkiewicz Playground, 3201 Richmond St.

Hotel Transylvania 3 will be shown and snack will be available for children. Bring your own chair or blanket.

Halloween designer bag bingo
The Franklin Towne Parents Association will host Halloween designer bag bingo on Friday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. at Canstatter Volksfest Verein, 9130 Academy Road.
Cost is $40 per person or $350 per table of 10 and includes buffet, beer, and soda. Must be 21 to attend. Prizes include best decorated table, best costume, Jack Chocolate Apple Game, raffle baskets, and more.

Halloween costume contest

The Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., will hold its annual Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. sharp.

The event is for boys and girls 10 and under and includes trophies, door prizes, treats, and a 50–50 raffle. ••

Halloween Bash III

St. Peter the Apostle Parish will host Halloween Bash III at St. John Neumann Center, 1039 N. Lawrence St., on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The event will feature a haunted hallway, a family friendly dance party, games, dinner, and prizes. Wear your best costume.

Tickets cost $10 for teens and adults, $7 for kids 4 to 12, and children 3 and under are free.

Philadelphia Vietnam Memorial name reading

VVA chapter 266 will hold its annual Philadelphia Vietnam Memorial name reading at the memorial, Front and Spruce streets, on Saturday, Oct. 27, at noon.

The community is invited to come to show its appreciation for the 648 men and women from Philadelphia who made the ultimate sacrifice. Chapter 266 is also looking for new members.

Deal or No Deal

CDA Court St. Francis de Sales #2617 will host Deal or No Deal on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Joachim’s Hall, 1527 Church St.

RWTC to present The Addams Family

The River Wards Theatre Company presents The Addams Family the Musical in Concert on Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at Mother of Divine Grace, 2612 E. Monmouth St.

Firebird Pierogi Festival

St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 817 N. 7th St., will host Firebird Pierogi Festival on Satuday, Nov. 3, from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 4, from noon to 4 p.m.

The event will feature ethnic food, baked goods, vendors, live music, and a beer garden. Food is eat-in or take-out. Admission and parking are free.

The St. Anne Christmas bazaar will be held in the Social Hall at Memphis and Tucker streets on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Santa Claus will be there from noon to 4 p.m. to pose for pictures with guests. ••

Mystery bingo

The Port Richmond Tigers will host its fall mystery bingo on Sunday, Nov. 4, at St. George Parish hall, Salmon and Venango streets. Doors open at 1 p.m. and bingo starts at 2 p.m.

Tickets cost $30 and include home-cooked lunch, 10 rounds of bingo featuring two winners per round. Beer, wine, drinks, raffles, and Chinese auction will be available. Mystery prizes include flat screen TVs, designer bags, home appliances, furnishings, electronics, and more.

Vintage bridal fashion show and tea

The Bridesburg Historical Society will

host a vintage bridal fashion show and Tea which will showcase the “Brides of

Bridesburg” through the decades on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at Fran-Lee Caterers, Almond and Buckius streets.

Come experience the changing styles in bridal and bridesmaid ensembles and enjoy a high tea of tea sandwiches, sweets, and a variety of teas.

Women of all ages are welcome to attend.

Fleet Reserve Association meeting

George L. Carlin Fleet Reserve Association Branch 001 will hold a meeting on Monday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month unless a holiday occurs and, meetings will be moved to second Monday.

Meeting will be held at USCG Sector Delaware Bay, 1 Washington Ave.

Enlisted Active Duty, Retired, Veteran USN, USMC, and USCG are welcome. ••

St. George School open house

St. George School, 2700 E. Venango St., will hold open houses from Monday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 16. Tours will be available from 9 a.m. to noon. An open house for pre-k and kindergarten will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 10:30 to noon.

The open house will include classroom tours, staff meetings, and information on financial aid.

Holy Inn going to AC

Holy Innocents Parish is planning a trip to the Tropicana Casino on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

A bus will depart from L Street and Hunting Park Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

The cost is $50 and due by Nov. 15.The trip includes $15 in slot cash, a Tropicana buffet and the holiday show Jingle. The bus will depart the Tropicana at 5:30 p.m.

Have you experienced a significant loss in life? Are you living with a loss if a loved one, a cherished dream, an seek healing strength to go on? You are invited to share in a group called Journey, which meets on Sundays at 2 p.m. using St Michael’s Church, Trenton and Cumberland streets.

Board Certified Chaplain and Pastor Joe Varsanyi, formerly Director of Pastoral Care at Jefferson Hospital, -Methodist Division, will lead the group in a time of learning about the impact of loss, and the process of grief, mourning and healing.
