Tigers’ basketball signups

The Port Richmond Tigers Travel basketball signups are now available. Stop by the Clubhouse, 2423 E. Ann St., from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

BCA annual tree lighting

The Bridesburg Civic Association will hold its fifth annual tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St.

The event will include photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a performance by Aqua String Band, appearances by Boys and Girls Scouts, a balloon twister, a caricature artist, sponsors in the gym, free hot cocoa and tea and an old-fashioned decorated bus looping around the neighborhood at the beginning and ending of the event.

Operation Santa Claus at St. Anne’s Parish

Operation Santa Claus will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 8 p.m. to midnight in the St. Anne Social Hall on the second floor, Memphis and Tucker streets.

Admission is $25 and includes soda, food and water. Event is BYOB.

Rockettes Christmas Spectacular trip

St. Peter the Apostle Parish will host a trip to the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Cost is $100 and includes gas, tolls, snack, international Christmas market and the show.

Bus leaves from the church, 1019 N. Fifth St., at 7 a.m. and returns at 8 p.m. ••

Holiday craft and vendor fair

Franklin Towne High School Parent Association will host a holiday craft and vendor fair with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bridesburg Rec Center, 4601 Richmond St.

The Holidays at Greensgrow Farms

The Holidays at Greensgrow Farms, 2501 E. Cumberland St., will be held on Saturdays, Dec. 1 and 8, and Sundays, Dec. 2 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shop local, support local artists. Looking for local, handmade gift ideas from some of the neighborhood’s most talented makers and artists? The event will feature a range of crafts and gifts; jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, accessories, green gifts, bath/body, Greensgrow made edible and growing gifts, and lots more.

There are different artists each day of the event.

The farm will be bursting with evergreen swags, holiday trees and more for your winter décor.

Santa will visit on Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. Bring your camera. Live music will include Marion Halliday and Trickster Sister on Dec. 2, from noon to 2 p.m., and Philadelphia Women’s Slavic Ensemble on Dec. 9, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Brunch and breakfast with Santa

St. Peter the Apostle Parish will host Brunch and Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. John Neumann Center, 1039 N. Lawrence St.

Cost is $10 for adults and teens and $6 for children 2 to 12. Tickets are available at the rectory office . ••

Bingo at Post 821

American Legion Post 821, 4404 Salmon St., will host bingo on Sunday, Dec. 2. Doors open at noon.

Cost is $5 for one card and 50 cents each for extra cards. Refreshments will be sold. ••

FNA zoning meeting

Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E Montgomery Ave.

There will be voting on three projects including a proposal for a third floor level roof deck at the rear/side of an existing structure at 2221 Memphis St.; a proposal for the legalization of an existing multi-family use in RSA-5 single family district for 162 Richmond St.; a proposal for the use of an existing restaurant/bar and brewery for social entertainment for more than 50 people. Under the zoning code, this proposed use is classified as “night club/private club” and requires a special exception at 1727 N. Front St.

Holy Inn going to AC

Holy Innocents Parish is planning a trip to the Tropicana Casino on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

A bus will depart from L Street and Hunting Park Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

The cost is $50. The trip includes $15 in slot cash, a Tropicana buffet and the holiday show Jingle. The bus will depart the Tropicana at 5:30 p.m.

LOPR fundraising bake sale

The Ladies of Port Richmond will host a fundraising bake sale on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jefferson Hospital, 10th and Chestnut streets.

There will be assorted homemade baked goods and assorted homemade gifts.

Proceeds will benefit breast cancer research, education and finding a cure. ••

St. Anne Christmas Concert

The annual St. Anne Christmas Concert will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, in St. Anne’s upper church, Memphis Street and Lehigh Avenue.

Christmas bazaar at St. Michaels’s

St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, will host its Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will feature a “goodie” table including baked goods, Santa’s workshop, a tombola table, raffles, and more. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available to take photos with children. Bring a camera. Homemade food will also be available for purchase.

A canned good donation for the food pantry and a donation of children’s gloves, mittens, scarves, or hats for the Tree of Warmth are appreciated. ••

Paint party with St. Anne’s Parish

St. Anne’s Parish will host a paint party on Saturday, Dec. 8. Doors open at 6 p.m. Painting begins at 7 pm.

Event is BYOB and BYO snacks. Cost is $35.

Kids’ penny party at Atonement

Atonement Church, 1542 E Montgomery Ave., will hold a kids’ penny party on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Admission is $2 and includes a hot dog and drink. Prizes include new, boxed toys, and the event will feature toys, gifts, food and fun. ••

OLPR Christmas Bazaar

Our Lady of Port Richmond School will hold its Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the school hall, 3222 E. Thompson St.

The event will feature vendors, kids’ crafts, games, food, a bake sale, raffles and a visit from Santa. ••

RWTC auditions for spring show

The River Wards Theatre Company will hold auditions for its spring 2019 show “Crazy for You” on Monday, Dec. 10, and Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Monkiewicz Recreation Center, 3201 Richmond St., from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Please prepare a song in the style of the show or song from the show if you would prefer. Please bring sheet music with you.

The show will take place April 5, 6 and 7. ••

FOCS tree lighting

Friends of Campbell Square will hold its Christmas tree lighting in Campbell Square, Belgrade Street and Allegheny Avenue, on Friday, Dec. 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

There will be visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Elf on the Shelf, and the event will include music, candy canes for children and hot chocolate and cookies for everyone. ••

Dancing with Santa party

St. Anne’s Parish will host “Dancing with Santa” on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 6 to 10 p.m.

The event will feature Santa Claus, dinner, dancing and family crafting.

Cost is $7 per adult or $5 per child. Children under 2 years old are free.

JPOAC activities

Juniata Park Older Adult Center, 1251 E. Sedgley Ave., is seeking new members. Free lunch and CCT rides offered to those who qualify.

The center has exercise classes, art classes, bingo, pool, shuffleboard, ping pong tables, trips and more.

Breakfast with Santa at Post 821

American Legion Post 821, 4404 Salmon St., will hold Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, home fries, coffee, tea and juice. ••
