Tigers’ basketball signups

The Port Richmond Tigers Travel basketball signups are now available. Stop by the Clubhouse, 2423 E. Ann St., from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

little bags.BIG IMPACT artist reception

The ReCreate featured artist opening reception, featuring little bags.BIG IMPACT by Anna Welsh, will be held on Friday Dec. 14, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at The Resource Exchange, 1701 N. 2nd St.

Anna Welsh, an 8th grader at Welsh Valley Middle School in Narberth, is the founder and CEO of littlebags.BIGIMPACT, a company that hand makes bags from resourced materials and fabric samples from The Resource Exchange. Fifteen percent of the proceeds are donated to Tree House Books, a literacy center and giving library in Philadelphia.

FOCS tree lighting

Friends of Campbell Square will hold its Christmas tree lighting in Campbell Square, Belgrade Street and Allegheny Avenue, on Friday, Dec. 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

There will be visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Elf on the Shelf, and the event will include music, candy canes for children and hot chocolate and cookies for everyone. ••

Annual Christmas Toy Drive

The Bridesburg American Legion Post 821 and William D. Oxley American Legion Post 133 will host their 8th annual Christmas Toy Drive until Friday, Dec. 14.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages are being accepted. The toy drive will benefit St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

Drop-off locations are Post 821, 4404 Salmon St., and Post 133, 4637 Decatur St.

Dancing with Santa party

St. Anne’s Parish will host “Dancing with Santa” on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 6 to 10 p.m.

The event will feature Santa Claus, dinner, dancing and family crafting.

Cost is $7 per adult or $5 per child. Children under 2 years old are free.

JPOAC activities

Juniata Park Older Adult Center, 1251 E. Sedgley Ave., is seeking new members. Free lunch and CCT rides offered to those who qualify.

The center has exercise classes, art classes, bingo, pool, shuffleboard, ping pong tables, trips and more.

Breakfast with Santa at Post 821

American Legion Post 821, 4404 Salmon St., will hold Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, home fries, coffee, tea and juice. ••

FNA zoning meeting

Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E Montgomery Ave.

There will be voting on three projects including a proposal for a rear located three-story addition with roof deck, accessed from a front addition to an existing three-story single family home at 1248 Day St., and a proposal for the erection of two single family homes with roof decks and accessory off-street parking via 24'-0" front setback at 1217–19 E. Columbia Ave.

Bridesburg Pool bricks for sale
Authentic pool bricks are available for purchase for $10 each. Proceeds benefit the gymnastics program. Bricks are available while supplies last. Only seven remain. ••

Low impact yoga classes

St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, will host a low impact yoga class with Amanda on Mondays, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Grief and loss support group

Have you experienced a significant loss in life? Are you living with a loss of a loved one or a cherished dream, and seek healing strength to go on? You are invited to share in a group called Journey, which meets on Sundays at 2 p.m. using St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street.

Board-certified chaplain and Pastor Joe Varsanyi, formerly director of pastoral care at Jefferson Hospital-Methodist Division, will lead the group in a time of learning about the impact of loss, and the process of grief, mourning and healing.

Exercise at St. Anne’s Senior Center
St. Anne’s Senior Center, 2607 E. Cumberland St., is offering exercise programs.

Revised Masses for Port Richmond parishes
The new Mass schedule for St. George, Mother of Divine Grace and Nativity parishes is now in effect.
Saturday Masses will be held at MDG at 4 p.m. and Nativity 5:30 p.m. Sunday Masses will be held at St. George at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., Nativity at 10 a.m., and MDG at 11:30 a.m. ••

Lutheran Settlement House programming
Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., is offering several classes to the public. Art classes for ages 55 and older will be held on Wednesdays, at 10:30 a.m. Suggested donation is $2.

Free farmers’ market vouchers
Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s annual distribution is underway for free Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program produce vouchers. Eligible Philadelphia seniors can receive $20 worth of vouchers that can be used to purchase Pennsylvania-grown produce.
Income-eligible Philadelphia residents who will be 60 or older by Dec. 31 of this year may receive the vouchers at PCA, 642 N. Broad St., weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at other designated sites.
Proof of age and Philadelphia residency must be presented to receive vouchers.
Vouchers are available while supplies last. ••

Post 821 seeks new members
American Legion Auxiliary Post 821, at 4404 Salmon St., would like to invite women who are qualified to join the post. Individuals must have a blood relative who is now serving or did serve in the military to join. Yearly dues are $20.
