Tigers signups

Signups for the Port Richmond Tigers baseball and softball programs for boys and girls ages 6 to 18 are open.

To register, stop at the clubhouse, Chatham and Ann streets, weeknights from 6:30 to 8.

Girls-only wrestling program has openings

Beat the Streets Philadelphia has started a girls-only wrestling program at the Rizzo PAL Center, Belgrade and Clearfield streets.

All girls ages 6 to 18 are welcome. No experience is necessary. Practices are held on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The program is free of charge.

Sign up for senior softball

The Philadelphia Senior Softball League, based at Crispin Field, is looking for players.

There are six teams in the 60 and older league. Games are played Tuesdays and Thursdays.

There are four teams in the 68 and older league. Games are played Mondays and Fridays.

First pitch is at 10:30 a.m. The leagues run from the second week in April through October. There are no games in July. The 30-game season includes playoffs.

Designer bag bingo

A designer bag bingo will be held at the Holy Name Church Hall, 701 Gaul St., on Friday, March 1. Tickets are $35 and include six cards for each game, desserts, coffee, tea and water. St. Adalbert Third Annual Dinner

St. Adalbert Parish will sponsor its Third Annual Dinner, which is a parish fundraiser, in its parish hall, Thompson Street and Allegheny Avenue, on Saturday, March 2, from 6 to 10 p.m.

There will be entertainment by the Polish American String Band and DJ Bart.

Dinner includes an appetizer table, dinner and a sweet table. Admission is $30 for adults

and $10 for children age 6 to 12 years.

Original Mystery Bingo

The Port Richmond Tigers will host a spring Mystery Bingo on Sunday, March 3, at St. George Hall, Almond and Venango streets. Doors open at 1 p.m. and games will start at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $30. Home-cooked lunch is included with admission. Games will include two prizes every round. There will also be a Chinese auction, special games and a 50/50 raffle.

Seats will be limited.

Open house at GAR Museum and Library

GAR Museum and Library, 4278 Griscom St., will hold an open house on Sunday, March 3, at 1:30 p.m. The event will include a free presentation featuring the Patriot Daughters of Lancaster and hospital scenes after the Battle of Gettysburg. ••

Diabetes education program at LSH

Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., will offer Common Threads: Diabetes Education Program on Tuesdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The program is free to individuals 60-plus and will be held over six Tuesday sessions, including March 5 and 12. Lunch will be provided after each session.

Bridesburg Rec Center summer camp registration

Registration for summer camp at Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., will begin on Wednesday, March 6.

There will be two encampments, which will run four weeks each. Encampments include early, day and extended camps.

The first encampment will run from Monday, June 17, to Friday, July 12. The second encampment will run from Monday, July 15, to Friday, Aug. 9.

All fees must be paid in full at registration. Cost is $110 for each early camp and $200 for each day and extended camps.

Tot program registration at A&W

Frank Glavin Playground, Almond and Westmoreland streets, will hold registration for its 2019–20 tot program on Thursday, March 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Children must be 3 or 4 as of Sept. 1 and fully potty trained. A birth certificate and $20 fee is required at registration.

Philly Sports Trivia to benefit PSPCA

The Pennsylvania SPCA will team up with Philadelphia Flyers Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere to host Philly Sports Trivia at the Punch Line Philly, 33 E. Laurel St., on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. for a fun-filled trivia night to benefit the organization’s life-saving mission.

The trivia will center around the Flyers, Phillies, Eagles, 76ers and more and will be hosted by WIP’s Al Morganti. Tickets are $20 to participate.

A special meet and greet with Shayne Gostisbehere will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Limited tickets are available for $75 and include the meet & greet, food and two drinks. Access to prime seating will also be available for those who purchase VIP tickets.

For those not attending the meet & greet, the evening will also begin with a happy hour at 6 p.m. featuring drink specials, raffles and more. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Pennsylvania SPCA’s life-saving mission.

St. Paddy’s Day Sip and Shop

A vendor and craft event will be held at Point No Point, 2843 Orthodox St., on Saturday, March 16, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Entrance is free and the event will feature vendors, crafts, cash bar, raffles and more.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bridesburg Cougars Cheerleading Squad.

Travel with North alums on May 11

The Northeast Catholic Alumni Association is sponsoring a trip to Baltimore on Saturday, May 11.

A bus will depart the alumni house at Rhawn and Fairfield streets at 8:30 a.m. and arrive back at 8:30 p.m.

The day includes a ticket to the National Aquarium at 11 a.m. and a sit-down late lunch/early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe at 2 p.m.

There will be about three hours free time before the bus departs the Inner Harbor at 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $110, which must be paid in full by April 8.

Grief and loss support group

Have you experienced a significant loss in life? Are you living with a loss of a loved one or a cherished dream, and seek healing strength to go on? You are invited to share in a group called Journey, which meets on Sundays at 2 p.m. using St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street.

Board-certified chaplain and Pastor Joe Varsanyi, formerly director of pastoral care at Jefferson Hospital-Methodist Division, will lead the group in a time of learning about the impact of loss, and the process of grief, mourning and healing.
