FNA zoning meeting
The Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. at Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave.
Voting will take place on two projects, including a proposal for a take-out restaurant (Starbucks) in ground floor commercial space at 1405 Frankford Ave. No change in previously approved uses (30 units multi-family, business/professional office at second commercial space) in other areas of building. No signage in the application. There is also a proposal for a new construction single family home with roof deck at 2332 E. Thompson St. Refusal is for open area.

St. Anne’s Parish programming
A basket auction will be held at St. Anne’s Social Hall, Memphis and Tucker streets, on Saturday, April 6. A preview will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m., and auction starts at 7 p.m.

An Eggscellent Easter will be held at St. Anne’s Social Hall on Saturday, April 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Spring cleanup volunteer day
Riverfront North Partnership is seeking volunteers for the citywide streets cleanup on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers should meet at the entrance of the future riverfront park in Bridesburg, North Delaware Avenue at Orthodox Street.
Participants will help with trail and street trash cleanup as well as trail maintenance. Riverfront North will also celebrate the “Opening Day of Trails.” Volunteers are encouraged to use the Port Richmond trail to walk or bike to the event.

Candy Scramble and Easter Hat and Tie Contest
Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., will hold its annual Candy Scramble and Easter Hat and Tie Contest on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m.
The event is open to boys and girls 10 and under. The Easter Bunny will visit at 1:30 p.m. Bring a camera for photos. A 50–50 raffle and tombola will be held. There will be trophies and candy.

Stars and Stripes, Bars and Pipes pool tournament
The Bravo Chapter Stars and Stripes, Bars and Pipes will hold a pool tournament on
Sunday, April 28, at noon at the Polonia Club, 3321 Belgrade St.
The 8-ball bracket tournament cost is $25 pre-registration and $30 at the door.
Registration opens at 11 a.m., and the tournament starts at noon.
First-place prize is $200, and second-place prize is $100.

St. George Golf Outing
The 8th annual St George Golf Outing will be held on Sunday, April 28, at 9 a.m.

Travel with North alums on May 11
The Northeast Catholic Alumni Association is sponsoring a trip to Baltimore on Saturday, May 11.
A bus will depart the alumni house at Rhawn and Fairfield streets at 8:30 a.m. and arrive back at 8:30 p.m.
The day includes a ticket to the National Aquarium at 11 a.m. and a sit-down late lunch/early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe at 2 p.m.
There will be about three hours free time before the bus departs the Inner Harbor at 6:30 p.m.

Auditions for music program
The nonprofit Share the Spotlight is holding auditions for musicians in grades six through 12 for a tuition-free summer rock music program.
Auditions take place at Keystone Soundworks, 4900 Longshore Ave., beginning on April 5.
To audition, students can learn any song by the Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Aretha Franklin on guitar, bass, drum set, keyboard or vocals. They should have some experience on their instrument and be highly motivated to practice and learn new parts.
The program will meet twice a week through June and July and perform an end-of-the-season show in a professional venue.

Beat the Streets Philadelphia has started a girls-only wrestling program at the Rizzo PAL Center, Belgrade and Clearfield streets.
All girls ages 6 to 18 are welcome. No experience is necessary. Practices are held on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The program is free of charge.
