Inaugural Youth Bri Tri registration

Registration is now open for the Inaugural Youth Bri Tri, which will be held Saturday, June 29, at the Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4600 Richmond St.

Cost is $10 per child, and each age group has a 100-participant capacity. Group 1 is 5–7, Group 2 is 8–10, and Group 3 is 11–13. Tentative start times are 8:30 a.m. for Group 1, 9:30 a.m. for Group 2 and 10:30 a.m. for Group 3. Event starts at the pool. ••

Riverfront North community meeting

Riverfront North will host an open-format interactive community meeting with updates about the Riverfront North Partnership Master Plan on Wednesday, May 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St.

Hear the plans and provide opinions. Help shape the future of the riverfront in Northeast Philadelphia.

LSH Dude Ranch trip

The Lutheran Settlement House’s Senior Center will take a trip to the newly remodeled Pine Ridge Dude Ranch, and there are a few spots left on the bus.

The package includes round-trip transportation, baggage handling, nightly entertainment, bingo and bocce. The trip will depart from the Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., on Sunday, June 16, and return on Thursday, June 20.

All payment is due May 3.

26th PDAC annual Awards Banquet

The 26th Police District Advisory Council’s annual Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, May 3, from 7 p.m. to midnight at SugarHouse Casino, 1001 N. Delaware Ave.

Tickets cost $50 and are available at the 26th District, 615 E. Girard Ave., or by calling 215–686–3233. Tables of 10 are available for $500.

The yearly fundraiser supports the 26th District officers and the community they serve.

FNA zoning meeting

The Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a zoning meeting on Tuesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at Fishtown Rec Center, 1202 E. Montgomery Ave.

Voting will take place on three projects, including a proposal for the erection of an attached structure with cellar and accessory roof deck for residential use, with roof access structure and rear deck access from second floor and two off-street accessory interior parking spaces at 227 E. Allen St.; a proposal for a new construction single family home with roof deck at 2332 E. Thompson St.; and a proposal for the demolition of an existing structure and erection of a new single family structure with roof deck at 552 E. Hewson St.

All residents and business owners in Fishtown are eligible to vote. Bring proof of residence or business ownership in the form of a driver’s license or a photo ID and a lease, utility bill or recent piece of mail addressed to your home.

Tigers Mother’s Day raffle

The Port Richmond Tigers will raffle off a PA Lottery $5 roll of scratch-offs.

Drawing will be on Saturday, May 11, at Cohox Playground, Ann and Cambria streets, after Skills Day.

Drawing will be shown on Tigers Facebook Live.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased through any baseball or softball player, at the Clubhouse, or by calling Tom Mack at 215–275.8838. ••

Spring Show program ad space available

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., has space available in its Spring Show program for ads.

Cost is $20 for a quarter-page, $25 for a half-page and $45 for a full page. All donations are tax deductible.

Show is Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21. Deadline for ads is Tuesday, May 14.

Travel with North alums on May 11

The Northeast Catholic Alumni Association is sponsoring a trip to Baltimore on Saturday, May 11.

A bus will depart the alumni house at Rhawn and Fairfield streets at 8:30 a.m. and arrive back at 8:30 p.m.

The day includes a ticket to the National Aquarium at 11 a.m. and a sit-down late lunch/early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe at 2 p.m.

There will be about three hours of free time before the bus departs the Inner Harbor at 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $110.

Tumbling and Gymnastics demonstration

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4600 Richmond St., will host a tumbling and gymnastics demonstration on Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m.

Bingo at St. Michael’s

St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, will host bingo on Saturday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Doors open at noon. Packages are $20 and include lunch.

Seating is limited. ••

A&W flea market

A flea market will be held at Frank Glavin “A&W” Playground, Almond and Westmoreland streets, on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost is $10 per table, which will be collected the day of the event. No food vendors permitted. Setup on a first-come, first-serve basis.

No rain date is scheduled. ••

Bethesda multifamily flea market

Bethesda Methodist Church, 2820 E. Venango St., will host a multifamily, outdoor flea market on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hot dogs will be available for purchase. ••

Flea market at LSH

The Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., will host a flea market on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will feature food, music, art, lightly used items and hand-made crafts. Programming for individuals 55 and older featuring boxed lunch on a first-come, first-serve basis will be included.

Vendors welcome and are asked to donate one item to the flea market’s raffle. All proceeds from the raffle and the cost to vendors will benefit LSH senior center.

Cost for vendors is $15 with table provided for senior center members, $30 with table provided for all other vendors, or $20 bring a table for all other vendors.

LOPR annual Breast Cancer Walk

The Ladies of Port Richmond will host its 15th annual Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at Samuel Recreation Center, 3539 Gaul St.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $30 to preregister or $35 the day of the event.

Shirt pickup and preregistration will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at Samuel Recreation Center. Preregistration also available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at 3160 Cedar St. Call MaryLou at 215–427–3222 to schedule.

Bridesburg Rec Spring Show

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4600 Richmond St., will hold its Dance and Tumbling Spring Show on Monday, May 20, and Tuesday May 21, at 7 p.m.

Admission is $3. ••

St. Hubert going to AC

St. Hubert High School will hold a trip on June 18.

A bus will depart the school, at Torresdale and Cottman avenues, at 8:45 a.m. A 50–50 and lottery basket drawing will take place.

There will be a one-hour ride on a cruise ship in Atlantic City.

Next will be a four-hour stay at Resorts Casino, with $25 back in slot cash.

The day will end with a sit-down dinner and wine at Tomasello Winery in Hammonton.

The bus will arrive back at the school at about 9 p.m.

The cost is $80, which must be paid in full by May 15.

Help build POW/MIA monument

The Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial is looking for a few good benefactors to donate granite for the construction of a POW/MIA monument at Penn’s Landing.

The PVVM Fund is about three-quarters of the way toward the $126,000 needed to build the national monument. The design, by architect Doug Seiler, will feature individually cut pieces of granite arranged to look like a stockade of a POW camp.

Construction should be completed by national POW/MIA Day on Sept. 20, 2019.

Bridesburg Food Pantry

Nonperishable food and clothing donations for the needy in the neighborhood are being accepted at Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4600 Richmond St.

Donations can be dropped off at the rec on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ••

Toddler Time at Bridesburg Rec

Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., will offer Toddler Time programs in September.

Toddler Time (2) will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or noon to 2 p.m. Pre School (3) will be held on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:50 to 11:30 a.m. or noon to 2:40 p.m. Pre K (4) will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:50 to 11:30 a.m. or noon to 2:40 p.m. Child must be age for class as of Sept. 1.

Rock music summer program

The nonprofit Share the Spotlight welcomes musicians in grades six through 12 to its tuition-free summer rock music program.

The program will meet twice a week through June and July and perform an end-of-the-season show in a professional venue.

Bridesburg Rec Center summer camp registration

Registration for summer camp at Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., is now open.

There will be two encampments, which will run four weeks each. Encampments include early, day and extended camps.

The first encampment will run from Monday, June 17, to Friday, July 12. The second encampment will run from Monday, July 15, to Friday, Aug. 9.

All fees must be paid in full at registration. Cost is $110 for each early camp and $200 for each day and extended camps.

Kirtan at MotherHeart Yoga Sangha

MotherHeart Yoga Sangha welcomes you to take part in MotherHeart Kirtan at MotherHeart, 2359 E. Susquehanna Ave.

Kirtan is a vocal means to connect with spirit, and open the heart. Style is call and response singing of mantra and sound. Kirtan takes place the last Sunday of every month. Doors open at 3:15 p.m. Event starts at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Event is donation-based.
