A benefit for Stacey Frisco Stefan and her family will take place on Friday, June 7, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 ballroom, 11630 Caroline Road.

Stefan, 30, of Torresdale, has epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, a rare cancer that grows from the cells that make up blood vessels.

This cancer can occur anywhere in the body, with the most common sites being bones, liver and lungs.

It usually happens in people 30 to 50 years of age but can occur in young children and the elderly.

Stefan is married with an 8-year-old son, Braeden Frisco, a second-grader at Our Lady of Calvary.

She will be receiving a living donor liver transplant a week after the benefit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The donor is her sister, Stephanie, who will be donating her entire left lobe, which is 40 percent of the liver.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the EHE Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2015 dedicated to pursuing effective treatment for EHE and supporting EHE patients and their families
