Residents in Port Richmond had a sweet treat with some special people last Thursday.

Powers Park Conservancy once again hosted Water Ice with a Cop this summer on July 22 at the public space behind the library at the corner of Ann and Almond streets.

Police came out to scoop the complimentary treat and residents were able to cool down while getting to know those tasked with protecting the public.

The event was made possible by donations from Councilman Mark Squilla, The Fairmount Park Conservancy, the UPS Store in Cinnaminson and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation.

For more details about upcoming events at the park, follow Powers Park Conservancy on Facebook.
