Rivers Casino, 1001 N. Delaware Ave., celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by serving as a collection site for Cradles to Crayons.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., individuals and organizations could drop off new or gently used children’s clothing, footwear, outerwear and books at the casino benefitting the nonprofit’s Philadelphia chapter MLK Day of Service.

Town Watch Integrated Services and Interfaith Community Services were among those groups that made donations.

“Rivers Casino is thankful for the opportunity to participate in MLK Day of Service. By partnering with Cradles to Crayons as a host site, Rivers Team Members collected dozens of donated bags of clothes, toys, books, and more for children in need,” said Emily Doñes, community relations manager at Rivers Casino. “Rivers is grateful for the partnership with Cradles to Crayons and supporting the mission to help children thrive.”
