St. Michael’s Church will host bingo on Feb. 12.

Bingo at St. Michael’s

St. Michael’s Church, Trenton Avenue and Cumberland Street, will host bingo on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Doors will open at noon.

Packages cost $20 and include lunch.

Space is limited.

Masks must be worn and proof of vaccination with ID is required.

Bus trip to Atlantic City

Holy Innocents is running a casino trip to Resorts on Thursday, Feb. 24. A bus will depart L Street and Hunting Park Avenue at 9 a.m., and leave Resorts at 3:30 p.m. The cost is $35, due by Feb. 18. Riders will receive $20 in slot cash.

Apply for community council

The Office of the City Controller is seeking community leaders, religious leaders, business owners and residents to join the Community Advisory and Accountability Council that will support its review of the Philadelphia Police Department. The review will focus on the Police Department’s operational and resource deployment as well as how Philadelphia compares to other police departments across the country and best practices in policing.

The Community Council’s members will be determined through an application/nomination process. The application and nomination form is at https://controller.phila.gov/about/opportunity-join-our-community-council/.

Applications will be accepted through Feb. 16.

The review will be performed by Stout, an advisory firm. The review will be supported by the Center for Policing Equity. Horsey, Buckner & Heffler, a minority-controlled financial firm, will also provide assistance with interviews and budget and spending data analysis.

The final report is expected to be released publicly by summer 2022.

Indoor flea market open

A new indoor flea market will be open weekends through March at the Roosevelt Mall, 2329 Cottman Ave., next to Rainbow.

Indoor spaces are $50.

Portside classes at Cherry Street Pier

Portside Arts Center will host upcoming kids, teen and adult classes at Cherry Street Pier, 121 N. Columbus Blvd.

Children’s Saturday Class will be held on Saturdays, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 4 to 10. Cost is $15 per class or $55 for four classes.

Teen Portfolio Building Workshop will be held on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 11 to 17. Cost is $20 per class or $70 for four classes.
