The Fishtown Pickle Project, after being forced to postpone its holiday-themed party, recently released its own party mix jars.

It comes after the company was set to host its first Feast of the Seven Pickles, its own spin on the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes, back in mid-December. However, due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, the event was ultimately postponed out of an abundance of caution.

“There was so much excitement around the event, so we were definitely bummed to postpone it,” co-owner Niki Toscani said in a press release. “But with everything going on, there was no way we could pack a small bar for the entire night, putting everyone at risk.”

Tosacni and fellow owner Mike Sicinski then decided to create a party snack mix based on the seven pickle-centric dishes that were set to be part of the Feast of the Seven Pickles that customers can enjoy in their homes.

“We asked ourselves, ‘How could we do something for our guests now, and we came up with a Pickle Party Mix,’ ” Toscani said. “The variety makes this a perfect and fun snacking experience.”

The mix includes cucumbers, mangoes, papaya, homegrown habanada and aji dulce peppers, blueberries and jicama, pickled with kaffir lime leaves, rice wine vinegar and apple cider vinegar.

The Feast of the Seven Pickles will now take place on Tuesday, April 19, at Fishtown Social, located at 1525 Frankford Ave. A portion of the sales from both the event and the party mix sales will benefit Magee Rehabilitation Hospital.
