Following its launch event last year, organizers of the 2nd Street Festival recently announced that the Northern Liberties Night Market series is returning on Thursday, May 26, from 5 to 10 p.m. on 2nd Street between Fairmount Avenue and Poplar Street.

The festival, which will also be taking place in the fall, will feature close to 50 food trucks, mobile vendors, restaurants, bars, makers and merchants from throughout the neighborhood.

“We are thrilled to bring these new open-air food festivals to our neighborhood in Northern Liberties,” said Owen Kamihira, the president of the 2nd Street Festival Corporation, in a press release. “When the Food Trust announced the end of their popular Night Market series, 2nd St Festival saw this as the perfect opportunity to carry the torch of a tradition many Philadelphians hold near and dear to their hearts.”

Food will be offered by, among many others, A Taste of Philly, Rita’s Italian Ice, Haagen-Dazs, Bake ‘n Bacon, Brood Coffee Truck, Byz. Empire Food Truck, Calle del Sabor, Chank’s Grab-N-Go, Dr. Brownies, Dr. Wutzit’s Wonder Balls, Hello Vietnam, Korea Taqueria, Li Ping Corn Company, Moocheeze, Moshava, Papermill Foods, Piccola Italia, Taqueria Dos Hermanos, The Little Sicilian, The Munchy Machine, VeganMe Please and Wok Works.

Beverage offerings will include cocktails by Standard Tap and Bourbon and Branch, margaritas by El Camino Real, freshly brewed beer by Urban Village Brewing Co., and beer and wine by Spuntino Wood Fired Pizzeria.

In addition, entertainment will be provided by DJ Frosty as well as various other surprise performers.
