R&B group Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will be performing at Rivers Casino on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m.

Originally organized by singer John Lyon, guitarist and songwriter Stevie Van Zandt and Richie Rosenberg in 1974, the group emerged from that era’s Jersey Shore music scene. Since then, the band has gone on to release over 30 albums, seven extended plays and a box set. Its 1978 effort, Hearts of Stone, was named by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 best albums from 1967-1987.

Known for its energetic performances and signature Jersey Shore sound, some of the group’s most notable hit songs include “I Don’t Want to Go Home,” “Havin’ a Party,” “Talk to Me” and “This Time It’s for Real.”

“We’re thrilled to host the legendary Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes in our Event Center,” said Justin Moore, the general manager of Rivers Casino, in a press release. “This acclaimed local band from the tri-state area will have the crowd dancing and singing along to their recognizable hits.”

More information regarding tickets, which currently start at $19, can be found at RiversCasino.com/Philadelphia.
