Thrive Pet Healthcare has opened its first primary care veterinary hospital in Philadelphia at 1800 Spring Garden St. near Matthias Baldwin Park.

With nearly 400 locations across the U.S.,Thrive Pet Healthcare is a unique network that provides wellness and preventative care, surgery, vaccines and diagnostic testing services for dogs and cats.

Its Spring Garden location features two veterinarians and a professional team of highly talented staff members. The clinic features six exam rooms dedicated to providing veterinary medicine and quality client services. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thrive Pet Healthcare Spring Garden practice’s manager is Lynn Shelton. The practice staged its grand opening on April 15.

“Philadelphia’s population is growing, and more people welcomed pets during the pandemic, causing greater demand in the area for top-quality veterinary care,” Shelton said. “We’re pleased to bring our veterinary expertise to the Philadelphia community to serve the wellness and preventative care needs of all pets.”

The current U.S. Census notes that almost half of all households in the Philadelphia metro area own a pet. Philadelphia ranks fifth in the country among major metro areas for pet ownership. Philly is No. 1 for cat ownership, with an estimated 568,000 households having at least one cat.

Through May 31, new clients can receive a free first exam, valid for one pet per household, by mentioning they are new clients.

The location will offer Thrive Plus memberships, which aim to make it easier and more cost-effective for pets to receive frequent, high-quality care throughout their life. For $14.95 per month, members receive unlimited exams, unlimited $5 nail trims and 10% off primary care services. Pet owners are encouraged to speak with Thrive Pet Healthcare Spring Garden staff about a Thrive Plus membership. ••
