Fresh off celebrating man’s (and woman’s) best friend, the Evil Genius Beer Co. is putting the final touches on a June 3 block party to celebrate Philly Gay Pride Month at its Front Street location.

On May 20, Evil Genius held its dog-themed block party at its Fishtown brewery for both dogs and humans.

“Our guests love to bring their dogs to the beer garden,” Evil Genius marketing manager Ryan Keller said. “When the sun comes out, the beer garden is packed with our furry friends and at our previous block parties we’ve noticed that lots of people bring their pups to hang out with them, so we figured we’d throw a party that they can enjoy, too.”

With pet-themed vendors and activities at the brewery’s indoor and outdoor facilities, both four- and two-legged party-goers had the time of their lives.

Evil Genius Beer Co, which prides itself on its “Very Silly Names for Very Serious Beers,” has also become known for its spacious beer garden, which has become an oasis for furry friends and their beer-drinking owners. The beer garden, conveniently located adjacent to the taproom in Fishtown, has been named one of the city’s top pet-themed venues.

To help kick off Gay Pride Month, Evil Genius is debuting a special limited edition beer release #loveislove. A portion from all sales will be donated to The Trevor Project, a national organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQIA+ youth.

Starting June 1, #loveislove is available in Evil Genius’ new 12-ounce cans at the Lab in Fishtown — and for delivery to your front door through a Pride partnership with GoPuff. The beer will also be available on limited release in drafts at the Lab and Evil Genius Beer Garden. For the first time ever, this exclusive beer will also be distributed to restaurants throughout the city for Pride Month. ••
