Flea market on Saturday

Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 801 N. Franklin St. (at Brown Street), will host a flea market on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Items on sale will include clothes, toys, housewares, tools and collectibles. ••

Attend Fishtown events

The Fishtown Neighbors Association is sponsoring a number of upcoming events.

Meet the Neighbors will take place on Saturday, June 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the NKCDC Garden Center, 1825 Frankford Ave. There will be food and beer, along with games and entertainment for kids.

A Fairmount Water Works field trip is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, from 9:15 a.m. – to 12:30 p.m. Guests will learn what the Philadelphia Water Department is working on to help the city maintain healthy drinking water and about the history of the water department, see a freshwater mussel project and take a closer look at some of the critters living in the Schuylkill with microscopes. You’re welcome to head to Craft Hall afterward.

First Fridays are set for June 9, July 7 and Aug. 4, from 6-8 p.m., at the NKCDC Garden Center. The free, family-friendly community meet-up for neighbors will feature music, a food truck, an artisans market and beer for purchase,

Music in the Park will take place on Fridays, June 16, July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. The free and family-friendly pop-up concert series will take place at Konrad Square, 2200 E. Dauphin St.

The Rose Garden Market, 1401 Frankford Ave., is open on Thursdays, June 8, July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14, from 5-8 p.m., and Sundays, June 25, July 23, Aug. 27 and Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be local artisans offering baked goods, health and wellness and fresh food.

A Summer game night series will take place on Wednesdays, June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9, at Philadelphia Brewing Company, 2440 Frankford Ave.

Adult and teen programs at Richmond Library

Crochet Circle, for adults of all experience, will meet at Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., on Wednesdays, June 7, 14, 21 and 28, at 4 p.m. Call 215-685-9992.

Teen Tuesday takes place on Tuesdays at 1 p.m., from June 20 to Aug. 8. Spook yourself and some friends with a scary movie and pizza. For ages 12 and up. ••

Children’s programs at Richmond Library

Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., is offering children’s programs.

Preschool Storytime and Play Group will meet on Wednesdays, June 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 10:30 a.m. Join Ms. Meghan for stories, songs and fun for ages 4 and under with caregivers. Stay after Storytime to play. Siblings welcome.

Read, Baby, Read Storytime and Play Group will meet on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. on June 8, 15, 22 and 29. Join Ms. Meghan for lap time with stories, songs, rhymes and bounces for babies with caregivers. Stay after Storytime to play. Siblings welcome.

Friday Fun will take place on Fridays at 2 p.m. from June 23 to Aug. 18. Stop in every Friday for a new activity. Do crafts and science experiments, play games, build with LEGO bricks and more.

Literacy Enrichment Afterschool Program is in session Mondays through Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. and Fridays from 3-5 p.m., through June 30. LEAP is a free, drop-in afterschool program that offers homework help and activities for students in grades K-12 every day after school.

A Chess Club will meet on Mondays, from 4-6 p.m., on June 12 and 26 at Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St. Learn and improve your chess playing skills. Beginners are welcome, chess boards included.

The Dalí String Quartet will perform on Tuesday, June 13, at 1 p.m. Experience the rhythms and sounds of Latin America and your favorite classics. Dance along during this free 45-minute family concert. Designed for audience members of all ages with no registration required. ••

Alternative rock band coming to Rivers

Everclear, an alternative rock band that emerged in the ’90s, has announced a fall headlining tour featuring special guests The Ataris and The Pink Spiders. The bands will perform at Rivers Casino on Friday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. Tickets for The Event Center show start at $34.

Led by vocalist, guitarist and founder Art Alexakis, the quartet, who celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2022, has also revealed a live album, Live at The Whisky a Go Go, recorded during last year’s anniversary tour, is set to be released on Sept. 8.

Trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan

The Polish American Cultural Center Museum volunteers are sponsoring a 7-day, 6-night trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan from July 9-15. The trip consists of a ferry ride to Mackinac Island, two nights at the Grand Hotel, a horse-drawn carriage ride and visits to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the Henry Ford Museum and the National Shrine of the Cross in the Woods. Pro-life baby shower

The Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia will hold a baby shower on June 24 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling that there is no constitutional right to an abortion. There will be a Mass at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, followed by a march down Race Street and a rally at Independence Mall, where there will be music and speakers such as Mark Houck, the pro-life activist found not guilty by a federal jury of shoving a Planned Parenthood volunteer he said was harassing his son outside a Center City abortion clinic. Baby donations will be accepted. ••
