The Whispers to perform at Rivers

The Whispers will bring their No. 1 hits to Fishtown this December.

The band, best known for its chart-topping singles And the Beat Goes On and Rock Steady, comes to Rivers Casino on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 8 p.m. Tickets for The Event Center show start at $59.

The group has scored eight Billboard Top 10 albums — with two of them having reached the No. 1 spot.

Twin brothers Walter and Wallace “Scotty” Scott are the lead vocalists who, along with Leaveil Degree, currently make up the band. The Whispers have earned two platinum and five gold albums and received multiple Grammy nominations. The group was inducted into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.

The Whispers are part of the upcoming entertainment at Rivers Casino, which is scheduled as follows:

• Oct. 7: The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA

• Nov. 22: DeRay Davis

• Nov. 24: Brian McKnight

• Dec. 22: Jim Breuer
