The police special victims unit is attempting to identify the male suspect who attempted a sexual assault on the 400 block of E. Girard Ave. at about 7:54 p.m. on Feb. 11. The suspect followed the victim, a 24-year-old female, as she walked home from the gym.

The suspect is a dark-complected black male believed to be in his early 30s. He is about 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall, with a stocky build, full beard, wearing a brownish-green winter coat, black hooded sweatshirt with a “NIRVANA” logo, black Under Armour track pants with a thick white strip at the side and base of the legs and black Under Armour running sneakers with a white sole. He appears to walk with a slight “pigeon toe” step.

If you see the suspect, do not approach. Call 911 immediately.
