The artist community in Philadelphia has reached a significant milestone as InLiquid, 1400 N. American St., will celebrate its 25th anniversary in March with a month-long series of fundraisers and auctions showcasing Philadelphia’s art community and one of its most impactful boosters.

The InLiquid Benefit Auction encompasses two weeks of events and parties showcasing select works of contemporary art, design and craft in person. Silent auctions and fundraisers with proceeds split equally between the artists themselves and InLiquid.

“When I launched InLiquid in 1999, my idea was to create a collaborative organization that could help connect artists with other artists, galleries and collectors,” InLiquid founder and executive director Rachel Zimmerman said. “We created a centralized place for visual art content, art writing and events. Our goal is to also nurture the public’s appreciation of all forms of visual art while working to make art more accessible to all.”

Each year InLiquid hosts over 40 free public art exhibitions featuring the work of 300-plus artists. In addition, InLiquid provides vital career services and nurtures the diverse opportunities available for Philadelphia’s artistic community.

Among the events available for the 25th anniversary event are:

VIP Collector’s Night at the Benefit, March 9

Second Thursday Reception: Dolls, Idols and Ideals, March 14

The Benefit Design Showcase, March 16

Sip and Sample at the Benefit, March 20

Sushi Sip and Snack, March 21

The Auction Finale, March 23

“Educating the public and artists about art and the value it provides is instrumental in what we do as a nonprofit,” Zimmerman said. “We hope to grow even more in the next 25-plus years to continue successfully serving our incredible community of artists.”
