Richmond Library, 2987 Almond St., offers a Literacy Enrichment Afterschool Program that meets Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. and Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3-5 p.m. LEAP is a free, drop-in afterschool program that provides homework help and activities for students in grades K-12 every day after school.

House GOP addresses illegals
State House Republicans have introduced legislation to combat illegal immigration in Pennsylvania in response to the Biden administration’s continued failure to secure the southern border. The legislation includes bills urging Congress and the federal government to ban flights carrying illegals into the country; requiring local cooperation with ICE when an illegal squatter is identified; and banning sanctuary municipalities. Rep. Martina White has introduced legislation to require $1 million minimum bail for assaulting a law enforcement officer, which was proposed in response to the attack on New York Police Department officers by a gang of illegal immigrants earlier this year.
“My legislation to set a minimum $1 million bail for assaulting a police officer sends a clear message: Pennsylvania stands firmly against violence toward those who protect and serve our communities,” she said. “We are committed to making sure those who would harm our officers, including illegal immigrants, will face serious consequences for their actions.” ••
Sunday flea market returns

St. Hubert headed to A.C.
St. Hubert will hold its ninth annual summer fun day trip on Monday, June 17. A bus will depart the school, 7320 Torresdale Ave., at 8:45 a.m. and arrive back about 9 p.m. There will be a one-hour ride on an Atlantic City-based cruise ship and a four-hour stay at Resorts Casino, with $15 back in slot cash and a $15 food voucher. Motorcycle awareness fundriaser
Irish Eyes Pub, 4742-44 Richmond St., will host a motorcycle awareness fundraiser on Saturday, April 27, beginning at 5 p.m.
The fundraiser will be held in memory of Victor J. Rescigno Jr. and Joshua Bramante, who both died in motorcycle accidents.
The night will include 50-50s, a silent auction, a DJ and drink and food specials.
Proceeds will go to Stars and Stripes, Bars and Pipes, a motorcycle group that supports first responders and the military. ••
Support police survivors luncheon
FOP Lodge 5 will host a luncheon for all families of Philadelphia police officers killed in the line of duty on Wednesday, May 1.
To offset the costs associated with the event, money is raised through an ad book form. Donations are tax deductible.
The cost is $700 for the back cover, $600 for the inside cover, $500 for the center page, $450 for a full page and $400 for a half-page.

Arts festival at Glencairn
The historic Glencairn Museum, 1001 Cathedral Road in Bryn Athyn, will welcome visitors to the castle for a “Sacred Arts Festival” on Sunday, April 28, from 1-5 p.m. The festival will feature an exploration of religious artistry, featuring live demonstrations by skilled artisans and a temporary exhibition, “Easter Eggs: Symbols of Rebirth and Renewal.” Visitors can immerse themselves in the connection between art and spirituality as demonstrators share their skills across various mediums like metal, glass, sand, stone, eggs, wood and ink.
The festival offers an opportunity to appreciate artistic expressions from a variety of faith traditions, including Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and indigenous practices. In addition to learning from the demonstrators, visitors can enjoy self-guided exploration in the galleries (only offered twice a year), a visit to the Tower and activities for kids and families.
Admission to the Sacred Arts Festival is $12 for adults; $10 for seniors and students; and free for all Museum members and children 4 and under. ••
Help shelter kittens
Women’s Animal Center, 3839 Richlieu Road in Bensalem, needs dedicated kitten foster volunteers to help with bottle-feeding shelter kittens – newborn to less than 6 weeks old – and caring for them in their homes until they are ready to be adopted. Women’s Animal Center will provide a training session to help volunteers be successful foster parents as well as a foster starter kit with kitten care supplies. Golf outing at Juniata
Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 87 will hold its annual golf outing on Saturday, May 11, at Juniata Golf Club.
Tee off is at 9 a.m.
The cost is $100 per golfer and includes greens fee, golf cart, shirt, awards luncheon and limited open bar at Division 87.

Ukrainian Folk Festival in August
The Ukrainian Folk Festival will take place on Sunday, Aug. 25, from noon to 8 p.m., at the Ukrainian American Sport Center — Tryzub, County Line and Lower State roads, Horsham.
There will be Ukrainian folk art, music, dance, crafts and historical reenactments, a variety of food and refreshments and a vendors grove.
