The Block Gives Back held its End of the Month Jawn on June 29 in the parking lot outside Boost Mobile, 3847 Aramingo Ave.

The afternoon included music, free grilled cheeseburgers and hot dogs, soft pretzels, groceries, socks, water and ice pops.

Boost Mobile sponsored the event, while McKenna’s Bar supplied the ice pops. Oak Street Health, with locations at 3621 Aramingo Ave. and the Roosevelt Mall, had an information table and provided the pretzels. Valley Youth House also participated.

The Block Gives Back is preparing for its annual Peace & Play Day, on Saturday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Ferko Playground, 1101 E. Cayuga St. There will be games, competitions, food, a DJ, bouncy houses, face painting, activities, live performances, guest speakers and resources. ••
