Summer is in full swing and the Evil Genius Beer Company is fully prepared to make this summer very memorable. Starting with a Family Fest on July 20, the Fishtown-area brewery has a fun-filled summer of fun planned for the entire family.

So how does a brewery remain family friendly? Easy, they’ve built the entire family into their plans right from the start.

“We’re one of the few kid-friendly breweries in the city and we really wanted to drive that home with this event,” Evil Genius co-founder Trevor Hayward said. “We strive to be a place where everyone is welcome and parents can enjoy a few beers with their family in comfort.”

The July 20 Family Fest will feature face painters, balloon artists and many other kid-friendly events to entertain the kiddos, while giving the adults time to relax in a festive summer atmosphere.

As with all Evil Genius events this July special food offerings and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to foster a full-family experience.

As if bringing the kids along wasn’t enough, on July 27, pets can get into the action. The second annual Puppy Pool Party will benefit the Palmer Doggie Depot, a favorite dog park hotspot in Fishtown.

Complete with temporary dog pools and splash pads for everyone’s four-legged family members, the event should be a highlight of the summer.

“Charity is a huge aspect of what we do here at Evil Genius,” Evil Genius marketing manager Ryan Keller said. “We’re huge dog lovers here and are always looking to support our community, this event is a really great way to combine both those efforts.”

On Sundays, Evil Genius will cater to its adult patrons with its highly entertaining weekly drag brunches. Each event begins at 11 a.m. and includes, a show, brunch and a new theme each weekend.

On July 21, television fixture Moira Rose is the focus. On July 28, the life and times of Britney Spears is the focus of: It’s Britney, Brunch.

One more fun event to put on the calendar will be the Hop Ones Hot Wing Challenge on July 26.

For 10 rounds, contestants will be offered chicken wings with progressively hotter and hotter sauces taken directly from the popular web series Hot Ones. Contestants will get a chance to answer hot sauce-themed questions to win a free beer.

Contestant tickets come complete with wings and samples of all 10 sauces. Spectator tickets will also be available to those who prefer to watch the carnage the hot sauces cause to their friends and loved ones.
