Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood is buzzing with excitement as one of the area’s most anticipated new restaurants, Sweetgreen, opens its doors at 1359 Frankford Avenue.

Known for redefining fast-casual dining with a focus on sustainably sourced, made-to-order meals, Sweetgreen is making a big splash with its fifth location in the Greater Philadelphia area.

To celebrate, the restaurant hosted a lively kickoff party on Tuesday, January 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., complete with giveaways, exclusive collaborations, and a meaningful commitment to the community.

As a standout addition to the Fishtown food scene, Sweetgreen’s menu reflects its dedication to fresh, responsibly sourced ingredients.

The restaurant works closely with local farms, including Lancaster Farm Fresh, Beechwood Orchards, Mother Earth Mushrooms, Furmanos, and Fresh Tofu.

So, each meal is crafted with care, from the signature Harvest Bowl to the Crispy Rice Bowl.

For opening day, the restaurant partnered with Philabundance, a nonprofit focused on eliminating food insecurity across nine counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

And for every meal purchased during the celebration, Sweetgreen donated a meal to someone in need.

The grand opening event was a full-blown celebration.

Guests enjoyed fun giveaways, including artisanal products from TWEE, exclusive Sweetgreen stickers by Amberella, custom embroidery by The Crafty One, and refreshing draft lattes from La Colombe.

The new Fishtown location features seating for 24 guests indoors and an additional 30 on its spacious patio.

Since its founding in Washington, D.C., in 2007, Sweetgreen has been on a mission to connect people to real food.

With each new location, the brand reimagines fast-casual dining, focusing on sustainability, local partnerships, and bold, nourishing flavors.

Sweetgreen’s newest outpost in Fishtown is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

As Fishtown new restaurants that combine a focus on health, flavor, and community impact go, Sweetgreen is sitting at the top.

Thus, stop by Sweetgreen Fishtown for a meal, join the kickoff festivities, and become part of the energy that makes this neighborhood so special.
